This year’s interdisciplinary BSS 275 course/public lecture series intended to help the campus community and the public better understand contemporary social and public policy issues will focus on the 2006 Election in California. The course will use the election of the Governor along with the 2006 campaign issues and the California congressional races to examine California’s promise, her current reality and the implications of both for California’s future in a national and global context.

The course features weekly panels of SFSU faculty experts speaking about California history and politics, the electoral process and the campaign issues and is followed by audience discussion.

Join us for pizza on Tuesday, Nov. 7th Election Night, for a Special Community Event at Jack Adams Hall, Cesar Chavez Student Center to watch Election Returns on a Big Screen TV and hear real-time analysis from SFSU faculty experts.

For a listing of specific class sessions, click on http://bss.sfsu.edu beginning September 1st for specific speakers, topics, and dates.
