Tonight, a benefit screening for Trans/Gender Variant in Prison Committee [ TIP ]
of California Prison Focus .
View the documentary film Cruel and Unusual.
Most states separate prisoners by genitalia alone, so pre-op transgender women are placed in men's correctional facilities, where they find themselves vulnerable and preyed upon. This documentary portrays the challenges faced by these women.
Analysis and discussion with TIP organizers will precede the film.
