The TRIBE 8 Documentary".

Sat: 2:00*, 4:00, 7:15, and 9:15 p.m..
Chronicling SF's most famous Dyke-Punk rock band,
Tribe 8.
The film captures the intense energy of live performances, as well as candid moments of band members' lives at work and on the road, and the controversy at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival that landed them in a quagmire of protest and praise from a fiercely divided crowd.
It also captures the truly funny and warm people behind the music and the politics.
The on-stage antics of blow-jobs, SM, and mock castrations... can be understood on a deeper level
through the band members' personal disclosures.
The humor and physicality of their controversial performances give these
five individuals the peace to experience the rapture of being alive.

at the Red Vic, Haight St.

in Massachusetts

By KATIE ZEZIMA
[ NY Times. Published: July 13, 2006 ]

until after Election Day what promises to be an impassioned debate
and vote on a [ state] constitutional amendment

Meeting in a joint session, legislators spent four hours debating matters scheduled ahead of the marriage amendment, which was next to last on the agenda,
and voted, 100 to 91, to recess until Nov. 9. [....]
