HEALTH CARE FOR ALL CALIFORNIANS
Presented by Karen Armstead

An enormously important bill is pending before the California Assembly, a bill for major healthcare reform. It has already passed in the State Senate. It’s called “SB 840” and it has broad support among professional organizations and Phil Angelides supports it. But it needs grassroots support as well. SB 840 goes farther than any other healthcare reform ever proposed for California because it would abolish for-profit private insurance altogether and create government-sponsored universal healthcare for all California residents for life. Learn about the bill and how you can get involved. To demonstrate grassroots support for major healthcare reform, people need to pressure California Assembly legislators right now.

Humanist Hall opens at 12:00 pm this Sunday for its Friends and Visitors to network and converse -- and enjoy an organic potluck supper together! Our speaker presents her talk at 1:00 pm.
