2500 - Basta - Enough - No More!

The death toll for American soldiers in Iraq now stands at 2500.

Please join the peace community for a vigil and a peace walk, starting at the Town Clock in
Santa Cruz - the date for this gathering will be Friday evening, June 16th.

We will gather from 7-9 PM at the Town Clock and Collateral Damage statue, at the time of the setting sun.

If you have a small gong or bell, please bring it with you so we can
participate in a nationwide 'Tolling of the Bells' that will be taking place.

'Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for us all'

Bring candles, flowers, poems, songs, signs, banners, flags....

..and most of all, our resolve to bring this slaughter, ours and theirs,
to an end

BASTA!
ENOUGH!!
NO MORE!!!

peace now

Those 2,500 U.S. soldiers killed, and the 18,000 or so injured, weren't bombed in their homes or shot in their streets. Most of the 100,000 or so Iraqis killed and the many more Iraqis injured were, and mostly by these soldiers and their buddies.

The United Snakes' ruling class could not carry on a war like the one against Iraq without at least the passive acquiescence of the majority of the U.S. population. Maybe if more U.S. soldiers were killed and injured, and if their fellow AmeriKKKans were made to see the corpses and damaged bodies of their country(wo)men, the U.S. colonial war -- and the deaths of so many Iraqis -- would come to an end. At the very least, the deaths of these U.S. troops are undermining potential support for future U.S. aggression around the world.

There is one thing that would be better for the world than the deaths of these U.S. soldiers and that would be their refusal to carry out orders. It happened on a large scale in Vietnam. Hopefully, either the U.S. troops will be removed from Iraq or they will start the kind of resistance that signified the breakdown of the U.S. military in Vietnam.

Yeah, they had a choice. They chose to do their duty, just as you choose to sit in the safety of your home and talk shit about them. Too bad the dead cannot respond.
by Aaron Aarons
If "duty" means "obligation" of some sort, why were these suckers obliged to kill and/or die for George Bush, Halliburton, the Zionists, and the rest of the ruling class? The people whose orders they followed to their deaths not only gave those orders from the safety of their homes or offices but, unlike yours truly, profited and continue to profit handsomely as a result of those orders.

Those people atleast to have to answer for they say and do, you don't.

You want to get invovled? fine, go fight for the other side in Iraq. They're accepting volunteers. Test your politcal theories on the battlefield. Otherwise shut up

This anonymous "Somebody", a.k.a. "someone", tells me, who is not anonymous, that I don't have to answer for what I say!

On the serious side: If I were young (I'm not!) and physically and mentally prepared for armed struggle against the Empire (I'm not!), why would I go to the expense of travelling to Iraq, where the only U.S. targets I'd be likely to be able to hit would be the Empire's disposable grunts, or some disgusting but worthless embedded reporters? Surely I could find lots of higher-value targets closer at hand, don't you agree?

by Yep, we agree
Start fighting back in the States then Aaron. Go ahead and attack some police officer. Heck, attack some “Zionist”, put your money where your mouth is. Or please, spare us the self righteous nonsense.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
