Imagine growing up in a world with no advertising aimed at teenagers and younger children. With marketing to children now implicated in childhood obesity, violence, drug and alcohol abuse, depression, and low self-esteem, among other problems, is a national ban on marketing to children reasonable? Do corporations have a "right" to advertise or is this a cynical perversion of the U. S. Constitution and common sense? What can parents and children do about the commercialization of childhood? These and related issues will be discussed after the film excerpts at the "Target Market" event.
