Location Details:
Holey Meadow Campground, just east of California Hot Springs (near Porterville California). Take FWY 99 to hwy 190. Go approximately fifteen miles to Porterville. Cross over hwy 65 and in approximately a mile and a half turn right on Plano road. Take Plano through the lower foothills to Fountain Springs (about fifteen miles), an old tavern. Turn left and follow the signs to California Hot Springs (maybe 20 miles). Just past the Hot Springs turn left on road M50, towards Johnsonville (do not go right towards Pine Flat). Shortly after this turn you will pass the Forest Service station. Go about five miles past Dead Mule Saddle and Cold Springs Saddle/Cold Springs Peak to Road 107 and turn left (toward Trail of the 100 Giants). In about a mile you will see the Holey Meadow turn off on your left.

Illegal logging is continuing in the Sequoia National Monument. While Sierra Nevada Earth First! has participated in and fully supports legal remedies to deal with logging in the Monument, we recognize that, should legal options fail, additional steps will be necessary to defend the forest.

Please join with activists seeking to protect the few remaining wildlands the Sierra Nevada mountains. Sierra Nevada Earth First! activists are hosting a camp Labor Day Weekend to do surveying of logging units, to discuss the issues involved, to plan for a long-term campaign to protect our forests, and to have a good time around the campfire.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE THERE THE ENTIRE TIME! ANY AMOUNT OF HOURS OR DAYS WILL HELP.
