Berkeley HS Censors NORML from Internet

Berkeley may have a reputation for cannabis tolerance, but that
hasn't penetrated to the city's public education establishment. A
few days ago, Cal NORML received a call from a Berkeley High School
student asking for information. I told him the answers to his
questions were all on our website. "I can't get to your website," he
replied, "Our school's computers are blocked." Apparently, Berkeley
HS administrators feel it is unfit to expose their students to
information about marijuana reform.
Of course, the kids know a lot more than their teachers would like
to pretend. Berkeley High School has published a slang dictionary
that is chock full of references to pot: baked, bammer, blessed
sacrament, blunt, bogart, bomb and bud, to mention only the B's. But
when it comes to the internet, all they get is BS.

"Clinicians frequently observe that chronic cannabis smokers experience delays in psychological maturation. Since some aspects of personality have been proposed to play a role in this process (7), and since it has been established that heavy cannabis use affects mood by increasing negative mood and reducing positive mood (8), it is hypothesized that loss of abstract and logical thinking leads chronic users to be unable to resolve normal emotional conflicts during psychological maturation. Further research is needed to confirm this hypothesis."

Do we really need Berkeley high school students to be starting out as chronic cannabis users? I don't support censoring the internet but I think parents of teens have a right to censor what they are exposed to. When they're 18, that's another matter.
They are not 18.
