"The Forgotten" Rally at City Hall
Budget cuts for this year have severely effected the homeless. Interview with Jesus Medellin of the Coalition on Homelessness.
Listen now:
A rally on the steps of San Francisco's City Hall prompted the atendees to go to each of the Board of Supervisor's offices and lobby for service support. The homeless population has been hard hit by the Newsom budget, and the lack of care in "Care Not Cash" puts the lie to the current plans of the mayor.

No one cares what the Coalition says. They have ceased to be of any importance in the city, and no one pays any attention to their drivel. Unfortunately for the poverty pimps like the Coalition, CNC is working just fine. It's doing exactly what it was designed to do - help those who WANT an exit from the streets. The professional panhandlers, con artists, transients, drug peddlers, and street criminals are not interested in "housing" or "services".
For are a real assessment of the current state of Care Not Cash and the involvement of the Coalition of the Homeless read Chance Martin's excellent essay in the San Francisco Sentinel. It is called, "O.K., So I'm A Dreamer".
Chance is not a dreamer in the sense of someone who has unrealistic expectations, however. He is a dreamer like Martin Luther King who knew how to make dreams of a better country come true.

When people aim their gall at the poorest and weakest in society aren't they really flashing their own poverty of spirit? Lacking a heart is more lamentable than lacking a roof.

Why is it that Steve's comments can always be found lacking in substance, inflammatory, ect.??But when invited to a real discussion cannot engage once his 2 bit argument is slapped down?
While some people have benefitted from CNC, some of the most impaired have simply fallen to the side. The real problem in this system is that people are quick to spew diatribes about 'personal responsibility' and various anti-welfare cliches, but fully support corporate welfare en masse.
Total hypocrisy.
