the Family of Melvin McHenry Now!
The International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement
Oakland branch is calling for everyone to join in a
demonstration and press conference:
Wednesday, April 20th at 10am
at Bushrod Park, Oakland
(on 59th St. near Telegraph)
Demand justice for shooting of 16-year-old Melvin
McHenry by police informant Patrick McCullough.
Come out on Wednesday to take a stand against the
vicious disregard
for African life shown by Neighborhood Crime
Prevention Councils and Oakland Police Department by
the exoneration of Patrick McCullough's shooting of a
young black teenager.
They justifyed the shooting of by alleging that
McHenry and his family are drug dealers. This is the
same tactic that they use all the time to evict black
families from the neighborhood. But the facts are:
there is NO economic development in the African
community, you can find all the drugs you ever wanted
to find in any dorm room of any white student on any
campus in the U.S., and if this were to happen in the
white community - the city would be OUTRAGED!
Come out on Wednesday and take a stand in support of
the African community's right to life!
InPDUM is also calling on supporters to come out to
the regular Wednesday meeting this week out at the
Uhuru House at 7pm at 7911 MacArthur Blvd in Oakland
to take on the struggle for justice for the family of
Melvin McHenry. Take Edwards Ave from 580 to
MacArthur; left on MacArthur; go six blocks and Uhuru
House is on the right.
