SF medical pot clubs in trouble?

by SaveFreedom-owner@yahoogroups.com
SF supes may soon declare "moratorium" on new medical cannabis clubs. Will SF crack down mechanically, as Oakland did? Or can SF invent a more intelligent system of regulating pot sales?
SF may impose moratorium on new pot clubs?

Mayor & Supes are becoming alarmed by unregulated and untaxed semi-legal trade in SF.
Last month, Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi (of Green Party) said he's studying this problem. Patients who use medical cannabis are saying that real clubs face competition from mercenary merchants who pretend to be clubs.

Months ago, Oakland severely restricted pot clubs, which had multiplied
in "Oaksterdam" area.

Will SF crack down mechanically, like Oakland?
Or can SF create a more intelligent system of regulating pot sales?

My friend Stephanie
wants NO regulation of SF pot clubs.
None!

I think her stance is unrealistic.

Clearly the City of SF will do something
(reasonable or otherwise) --
so now the question is,
"WHAT will happen?"

San Francisco voted 78% for Prop 215, for medical marijuana. Prop 215 not only passed easily in the Bay Area, but also in conservative San Diego and Orange Counties as the medical doctors actively supported the campaign for Prop 215.

For the results on Prop 215, on the November 1996 ballot, see:

and the county color map at:

The idiots at City Hall need to not only be reminded of how we voted but to be told that the only solution to this war on the workingclass is to legalize all drugs, thus removing them from the street as they will no longer have street market value. This will also eliminate the prison-industrial complex as most prisoners are imprisoned, all at taxpayer expense, for drug law violations, and go a long way to abolishing prisons, forcing this society to spend money on education and social services to prevent social problems.

The idiots at City Hall also need to be reminded that not only is marijuana medicine but that there are many drugs which are opium derivatives, including common prescription cough medicines. The fact is people already put such poisons in their body as alcohol, tobacco (smoke) and coffee when drunk in excess. We know for sure that alcohol and tobacco are very harmful to society as a whole, and caffeine is very damaging to those individuals who drink too much coffee. If people want to put other poisons in their body, they can do so. However, if these illegal drugs are legalized, they will be far less available. If there is any medicinal value to all the currently illegal drugs, they can be put on the prescription drug list.

It is now 9 years since the passage of Prop 215. San Francisco led the way on Prop 215,and the idiots at City Hall had better be told that we will not retreat; we will advance to full legalization of all drugs. Marijuana is medicine. Shut down the prison-industrial complex. End the war on the workingclass. Encourage pot clubs everywhere. In fact, marijuana, like all other medicines, should be readily available wherever all other medicines are sold.
