Oakland Community is Mobilizing for January 12th School Board Meeting

The Oakland Education Association (OEA) and the Coalition Against School Closures are mobilizing people to attend the next School Board meeting on Wednesday, January 12th, 4:00 PM-8:00 PM in Auditorum, Oakland High School, 1023 MacArthur Boulevard.
The Oakland Education Association (OEA) and the Coalition Against School Closures are mobilizing people to attend the next School Board meeting on Wednesday, January 12th, 4:00 PM-8:00 PM in Auditorum, Oakland High School, 1023 MacArthur Boulevard. At this meeting the community will demand a public hearing on the transformation of 13 Oakland schools and the OEA will lay out some powerful demands for their transformation. State Administrator Randy Ward's proposal simply drastically reduce union rights of teachers and staff at these schools, firing all the staff and allowing them to reapply for positions at these sites.

The OEA will be hosting a community meeting on the crisis facing the Oakland schools will take place on Wednesday, January 19th, from 5-8PM at the OEA office at 272 East 12th Street (12th Street and 3rd Ave). Please RSVP to Jonah Zern at jzern1 [at] yahoo.com.
