Is Gay Marriage Really So Progressive?
New College Theater, 777 Valencia Street, San Francisco

Does gay marriage benefit black queer people? Or does it uphold white privilege and a conservative agenda? Come hear radical queer people of color critique the conservative aspects of the gay marriage movement led by the white gay establishment and examine how it benefits primarily middle class whites and prevents us from creating a truly radical social and political queer movement. Let's discuss whether  "gay marriage" represents a truly progressive political direction.

Speakers include UC Berkeley Graduate Students Matt Richardson, Marlon Bailey and Priya Kandaswamy. Sponsored by the New College Center for Education and Social Action
