>San Francisco‹Ohio Congressman and presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich (D) will address a panel of ethnic media journalists next Monday at a newsmaker briefing organized by NCM (New California Media)‹a coalition of over 600 ethnic media organizations. The event is co-sponsored by the San Francisco Immigrant Voter Coalition, the San Francisco Tabernacle Congregations, Media Alliance and Accion Latina/El Tecolote.
>
>"This is a valuable opportunity for California¹s ethnic media and their audiences to learn more about one of the most intriguing candidates for president," says NCM executive director Sandy Close. "In a state whose rapidly changing demographics make for complex voting patterns, ethnic and minority media play a key role in stimulating voter participation. NCM is honored to co-host this first in a series of newsmaker briefings surrounding the 2004 presidential race."
>
>NCM Up Front Radio host Sandip Roy will moderate the event, which will begin with questions from a panel of ethnic media journalists representing the diverse communities of San Francisco and the state of California. They are: Mei-Ling Sze, news anchor for KTSF Channel 26 Chinese language news, Harrison Chastang, news director for KPOO 89.5 FM‹an independent African-American owned and operated radio station, Beatriz Ferrari, reporter for Univision KDTV Channel 14, and Maya Pressnall, editor of Roaddawgz‹a publication by and for homeless youth. The second half of the briefing will be dedicated to additional media and audience questions.
