On December 12, 2000, five U.S. Supreme Court Justices betrayed us and abrogated the Constitution, Usurping OUR Right to Vote by Ending the Ballot Count, the ONLY Indication of the Will of the Citizens
to elect the President of the United States.
(A)Wake for Democracy is a vigil that continues the protest of this illegal action. Further, our protest will continue until
our elected representatives put a STOP to recent assaults on our civil rights, PROTECT the Bill of Rights and ENACT Real Voter Reform.
Please join us on December 12, 2001 to light a candle of hope for true Voter Reform and to remind Americans that when the Supreme Court 5 usurped our right to vote, we took the first step toward the loss of democracy.
Shine the Light of Justice for American Voters
**This vigil is not sponsored by any organization. It is being organized by people – just like you – who have never “rabble-roused” before. We are appalled that a year has passed and none of our political representatives nor organizations appear to be marking this anniversary of mourning for the loss of the basic democratic right to elect our government officials. If you have connections to news media, know of groups that could join us, or can help make signs and/or leaflet, please email us at citizk@qwest.net.
WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET TO SPREAD THE WORD.
