Please join a group of dedicated individuals and organizations in the build-up and planning of this year Earth Summit, happening on October 11th at New College. The Earth Charter Monthly Discussions are a build-up to the Earth Summit as well as a place to explore topics through dialogue and community building. This month's theme is "Globalization and the Power of an Individual." In addition to the discussion portion of the monthly meetings, the rest of the time will be spent on planning for the Earth Summit on Oct. 11th. The Summit is a day where cities from around the world participate in Earth Charter events, linking via the internet many of the different participating groups. In addition to the components San Francisco's Earth Summit shares with cities around the world, each city is also encouraged to make the event its own. Examples of what the Summit could include are keynote speakers, roundtable discussion, networking and team-building and large-scale planning for upcoming actions. Please get involved in this very important organizing meeting as well as the monthly discussions that follow on August 23rd and September 20th and the Earth Summit on October 11th!
