DESCRIPTION:Please join a group of dedicated individuals and organizations in 
 the\nbuild-up and planning of this year Earth Summit, happening on October 
 11th\nat New College. The Earth Charter Monthly Discussions are a build-up 
 to the\nEarth Summit as well as a place to explore topics through dialogue 
 and\ncommunity building. This month's theme is "Globalization and the Power 
 of an\nIndividual." In addition to the discussion portion of the monthly 
 meetings,\nthe rest of the time will be spent on planning for the Earth 
 Summit on Oct.\n11th. The Summit is a day where cities from around the 
 world participate in\nEarth Charter events, linking via the internet many 
 of the different\nparticipating groups. In addition to the components San 
 Francisco's Earth\nSummit shares with cities around the world, each city is 
 also encouraged to\nmake the event its own. Examples of what the Summit 
 could include are\nkeynote speakers, roundtable discussion, networking and 
 team-building and\nlarge-scale planning for upcoming actions. Please get 
 involved in this very\nimportant organizing meeting as well as the monthly 
 discussions that follow\non August 23rd and September 20th and the Earth 
 Summit on October 11th!\n\n
