The Wisdom of Fred Hampton: “You can kill a revolutionary, but you can’t kill the Revolution!” An inspiring video presentation will be shown.
This class will provide a brief overview about Fred Hampton who led the largest chapter of the Black Panther Party in Chicago, IL. Fred was one of the most powerful organizers in all of American history exemplified by the fact that he influenced 20,000 potential comrades into the Black Panther Party, which led to his assassination. This class will also show the 1971 movie “The Murder of Fred Hampton”, which chronicles some of Fred Hampton’s work and speeches as well as the COINTELPRO led set-up and murder of this tremendous Freedom Fighter. Information will also be provided about his wife Akua Njeri and son Fred Hampton Jr. who continue the fight. After the movie, a collective discussion will follow.
