Sunday Afternoon: Fighting the Occupation at Home in Hunter's Point
On Sunday afternoon, veterans of anti-occupation struggles at home met in Hunter's Point to celebrate the birthday of Idriss Stelley and kick off the Green House & other projects funded by police brutality settlements from SFPD.
On Sunday afternoon, people of all types who are engaged in class struggle against police occupation in the United States gathered in Hunter's Point to show support for Mesha Irizarry, mother of Idriss Stelley, who was killed by SFPD on June 13th 2001. People from Oakland, San Francisco & Hunter's Point, socialists, civil rights activists, and class war revolutionaries gathered for a celebration and a commitment to escalate the fight against police occupation in our neighborhoods.

Mesha recently received a $500,000 settlement from the City of San Francisco, and she has used this money to start the Idriss Stelley Foundation, an organization of police brutality victims for police brutality victims.
Representatives were present from the ACLU, the October 22nd Coalition, Police Reform Amendment Campaign, SF Bay View newspaper, SF Indymedia, and Victory Over Violence.
