Human Resources Manager at the Berkeley Bowl

As the premier supermarket in Berkeley, we are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our management team in this newly created position.
In this key role, you will provide Human Resources leadership, critical support, coaching and counseling to the management team. Daily activities include employee relations, performance management, training, recruitment, benefits administration, union avoidance, HRIS administration and compliance with governmental regulations and company human resources policies. Additionally, you will coordinate worker's compensation, OSHA compliance and work with managers to handle progressive discipline/terminations.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR or related field, and at least 10 years of progressive HR generalist experience with a minimum of 3 years of management experience. The successful candidate will possess outstanding communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, growth environment. Professional certification and prior experience in the grocery or retail industry is strongly preferred.
