SF Supervisor Tony Hall
Phone SF Supe Tony Hall's office and demand that he retract his call for tough prosecution of anti-war protesters.
There is an interesting article in the March 25 SF Examiner where city supervisor Tony Hall calls for tough prosecution of all anti-war protesters (page 5 top).
Unbelievably, there is one paragraph that reads: "Asked what he thought of civil rights disobedience during the civil rights and Vietnam war protests of the 1960s, Hall said disrupting the lives of others is always inappropriate." If folks like Tony Hall had their way, there would still be segregated bathrooms and restaurants.
Hall's tough talk and "hammer the protesters" rhetoric is obviously unacceptable. If Hall got his way many activists would be rotting in the city jail. Those who plan on attending Tuesday's Board of Supes meeting should definitely point out Hall's draconian stance. And EVERYONE should call his office and complain.
Hall's number at city hall is 415-554-6516. Flood his phone lines!
