Drummer Boy Kicked Before Arrest

I was shocked to see a police officer run up to a drummer and kick him while he stood peacefully. The drummer was later singled out for arrest. The police officer was identified as #2170.
I was close to the drummer's position for some time before his arrest and spoke with him twice, and I had no reason to believe he was committing any crime. I saw him pushed around by police repeatedly. I do not know this person.
He was arrested within a minute or two thereafter, pulled from the curb by a large group of officers, his foot stomped on repeatedly to force it to the side and pin it down while he was face-down under the officers who handcuffed him with his backpack on. After he was cuffed he remained limp in the street for some time, possibly unconscious or in shock. An officer lifted and appeared to drop his head repeatedly before eventually one hauled him to his feet.
I'm posting first, four cropped images of the kick, then the larger view with arrows drawn to show the kick, and then three images from the arrest.
These images came from the original video which was posted here:

they targeted the musicians - probably because people were singing or chanting with them which adds to the unity.
they were also bapping the trombonist around for no reason.
the video clip of the drummer makes me sick. i'm sure he must just be "some punk" who deserved to get yanked off the sidewalk and beaten unconscious.

This is some of the "amazing restraint" that Rob Morse was talking about.
Rob thinks that anyone who isn't doing what he's doing, is wrong. So in his mind, anyone who doesn't do what he does, just deserves everything they get.
Anyone know if Morse is a zionist, too? It would seem to fit. Lately the zionists are popping out all over the place attacking and dividing the left.

I know this kid. He's just 18 years old. Wouldn't hurt anyone. Apparently, he's still being held. No one but his laywyer is allowed to speak to him. Anyone out there have any more information or who witnessed his violent arrest?
Yeah, I'm sur e he was being totally innocent. good for entertainment value though.

The whole world is watching. This pics Madrid-IMC. Paremos la guerra!
hi i am drummer boys lawyer. i need witnesses . please get in touch thanks stuart hanlon
When he phoned me from jail, I was conflicted. Why didn't you just leave and avoid this mess. He said we were trapped in by the police. They this huge cop comes flying up with full weight and force and kicks me for absolutely no reason. And now I am looking through the photos on the web (thank you sfindymedia) and see the actual proof. My God.
I can't believe this policeman did this to my son. I am horrified and outraged at this unprovoked act of violence. My son stands 5' 8" and weighs 120lbs soaking wet not much of a threat to a gigantic towering blue-clad bully. Can you imagine someone you love dearly geting kicked from steel-toed boots by some hulking vicious man dressed in riot gear? Anyone who witnessed this atrocity, please resond to my web address: howlin_99 [at] yahoo.com We'd like to review your photos, tapes or story, because we've retained a lawyer who would like to make sure this sort of thing never happens to anyone again. Ever. There are many fine policemen in this city. I know that, my son knows that. He's even helped to train some of them on ropes courses and helped out on some of their camping trips for underpriviledged children. That said, there are a few cops who should be no where near a situation where they cannot control themselves. The man who kicked my son (thank you for putting up the picture) is one of those "men". As a friend of mine once said, by virture of becoming a policeman, they should be held to a greater accountability. All of these policemen are not San Francisco's finest. Not by a long shot.

thanks for speaking up, drummer dad.
i want to point out that there are TWO kinds of cops.
one is the kind that walked up and kicked your son without provocation.
the other is the kind that stands by and lets their fellow officers engage in illegal activity without intervention.
the law says that it doesnt matter if you shot the security guard or just drove the getaway car, you're still guilty of murder.
if i could hear EVEN ONE police officer stand up and take resposibility for their actions or their silence, i will change my opinion.
until then, each and everyone of those cops is guilty. they have a responsibility to restrain brutal cops and ABSOLUTELY NONE of them did.
i'm showing up and i'm contributing to the bail fund.
this is most certainly repression, and we can only imagine what it will be like when these cops' friends in the military unleash their cowardly death onto the children and people of iraq.
end the police state. end the war parties.

I think you missed a big part of "dad's" point. His beef is not with the concept of police, as yours obviously is. His beef is with the INDIVIDUAL police officer. I am a big supporter of the concept of police, unlike the average anarchist, but do not support abuse of the badge in any way. Please don't insult my intelligence and give me that anarchy baloney that all police action is abuse.
But to say they just stood there and watched and are ALL guilty of something is to assume a number of things:
1. that they were not busy themselves, and were all watching this unfold.
2. that they should have stopped what they were busy doing, risked personal injury, and taken matters into their own hands.
3. that they share your assumptions that all police are inherently wrong, and that they should do what is necessary to harrass the department or another officer.
4. And that Mr Drummer Boy didn't do anything to provoke the attack.
To a large extent, police officers (rightly or wrongly) must be able to trust each other's judgement, or they're often dead. That YOU don't trust their judgement is irrelevant. They have to assume the other officer is doing something for good reason. And if he isn't, that the system will work out the penalties later. They have no other choice but to assume the worst in many situations if they want to get out alive.
So far, you have heard one side of the story. As it sounds, the other side will come out in court. Maybe Mr Drummer Boy is as pure as the driven snow. Maybe not.

yes, it IS the responsibility of the police to risk personal injury to stop their fellow police officers from breaking the law under color of authority.
the video shows quite clearly that the drummer boy was kicked without provocation. had it been the case that drummer boy had committed a crime in the eyes of the officer, then the boy would have been singled out for ARREST rather than a RANDOM KICKING. note that the drummer was not arrested until well after the kicking.
furthermore, the kicking of the drummer boy was far from the only act of brutality from the police on that day. i personally witnessed a girl get kicked in the head by a mounted officer who had made no motion or speech indicatnig that anyone should move. then he kicks the girl in the head without provocation.
it remains a fact that despite random acts of brutality, not one police officer upheld the law. there won't even be an inquiry into their behavior, because feeble servants of the state like you are always giving the cops the benefit of your highly indoctrinated doubt (look! rodney king is trying to get up and brutally attack those officers!)
yes, i was responding to dad's statement about an individual cop by pointing out that that one individual cop does not carry the burden of guilt alone.
this is obvious since not even one cop upheld their own law.
"I am a big supporter of the concept of police, unlike the average anarchist"
are you trying to say you are an 'anarchist'? that would not make a lot of sense, since anarchists are against the existence of the state, of which the police are a major part. i would guess that no anarchist, average or otherwise, could be counted as a supporter of the police.

Why was my previous post censored? I have better things to do than waste my time on a board that only allows one sided views. If the only way you can win an argument is by drowning out your opponent with noise, then you don't have much of an argument. Sorry anarchists, you don't practice what you preach! It was fun annoying you all while it lasted.

Feel free to go do them. Don't expect to be missed.
Ya, the little drummer boy really looks "trapped" in the crowd...LOL Why didn't he just leave when he was ordered to?
Police- 1 Little Drummer Boy- 0
LOL...LOL...LOL
Police- 1 Little Drummer Boy- 0
LOL...LOL...LOL
Apparently, the little drummer boy was playing "The Nutcracker Suite".
The little drummer boy could have and should have left when told to but didn't. So are we to feel sorry for him now since he and hundreds of others disrupted the city. I saw the whole thing, the so called "Big Cop" was maybe at the most an inch taller.
If you were there, then you were guilty also of assault with a deadly weapon for not stopping your fellow so called demonstrators from throwing rocks, half bricks, bottles etc at the police. Why don't you try standing out there and taking all that shit and see what actions you take and maybe I can respect you people then. Let's put all you Monday night quarterbacks in a middle of a gun fight and see if you can shoot to disarm or maybe talk the shooter into dropping the gun before he/she kills you. Let's see, do you tell your doctor how to perform an operation, I don't think so! You people don't like or want the cops until you cry for one!!!!
...along with people who favor the murder of children in iraq. people like you.
If you call the cops for help, you're taking your life in your hands. They're unlikely to be any help you at all, and they just might shoot you or rob you while they're there.

Unlike Iraq, in the USA people have a right to protest, some of the people get out of control tho, often because the Cops and the Pigs instigate things....this kicking PIG is Obviously human scum flipping out, scared for his life by a drummer, the jungle beat must have scared him and brought back fears from his childhood...this PIG probably has a Fear of Music....hopefully someday he'll be killed in a drug buy n bust....that would bring less pain to his friends and family than him blowing his own brains out...NOT ALL Cops are PIGS just as all ........ are not ........ , he and scum like him give all Cops a bad name, and tarnish the good things that they can do....
