General Franks Inspected for misconduct

In Washington, US Army Gen. Tommy Franks, who will lead US forces in Iraq war, has come under investigation by Pentagon Inspector General following allegations of possible misconduct. One may be allowing his wife’s presence at classified discussions.

Defense secretary Rumsfeld emphasized his complete confidence in Franks – even before inquiry completed: “We are lucky to have him.”

Pentagon chief adviser Perle declares France is no longer American ally and must be contained in order to save NATO. Perle dismissed Germany’s anti-war stand as the aberration of “a discredited chancellor”.
