Mayor Dean and her Micki Mouse puppet: funny posters promoting truth in berkeley election

As the November 5 election draws near, dirty campaigning by the right-wing Berkeley candidates is on the increase. This home-made flyer (which requires your own pen to add the touches!) shines a light on some of that corruption while keeping a sense of humor. Big money and dirty politics can be exposed by the grassroots.

Weinberg has broken local and federal laws in his campaigning, to gain an unfair advantage over the by-the-book incumbent, Kriss Worthington. He has also falsified endorsements.

The truth is Micki Weinberg is being funded by landlords, using their ill-gotten gains from fleecing students to help this dishonest campaign to oust one of the regions foremost progressive leaders. You can check his campaign contributions at

Weinberg's campaign has also stooped to hit piece emails which claim that Worthington is a leader of the anti-Israeli forces. The email written in a way that strongly suggests that Worthington was part of anti-semitic attacks in Berkeley. It concludes with a plea for the maximum, $250 donation to Weinberg's campaign. In fact the email is libelous because Worthington works openly for peace and has sponsored anti-hate legislation. In contrast, Weinberg's first words after Mayor Dean appointed him to the Peace and Justice Commission were, "My intention is to abolish this commission". He has been seen berating people holding "Peace in the Middle East" signs at demonstrations. And he publicly organizes to send students to war in Israel, as shown in this Daily Californian article:

This outrage must not stand! Whether you believe in this system, of voting, or not, these abuses are intolerable.

The two PDF files are meant to be printed out and posted around the University of California at Berkeley, particularly the southside area where students are at risk for misinformation from the dirty campaign of Micki Weinberg.

The first flyer is a quiz. It was made by a student not working under the auspices of any campaign. You have to draw the puppet's wires with a pen.

The second flyer is a statement: FUNDED BY LANDLORDS! Here you draw not only the puppet's wires, but also his Mickey Mouse ears. The flyer goes on to talk about how hypocritical and dishonest Mayor Dean is, and how dirty their campaigning has been.
