Fri 7 AM nonviolent civil disobedience at the SF Federal Building
Dear friends,
The following is a call to action that was put out by a group of representatives from several anti-war organizations, including Not in Our Name and Global Exchange among others. I hope that you will take a few moments to send this message out on whatever lists you may have. Send it especially to Bay Area
organizations. This could be a VERY historic action.
Protest the War Vote!
If the House OR Senate votes to give Bush license to attack Iraq authorizing a war of aggression that would kill thousands of civilians, cost taxpayers billions, lose the friendship of our allies and destabilize the Middle East Fill the air with our outraged voices! Fill the streets with our marching feet!
Emergency response plan:
Thursday BART alert: 4:30 PM after the first vote meet at Market and Montgomery, San Francisco
MARCH to the Federal Building, 450 Golden Gate Avenue, and surround it with unprecedented outbreaks of democracy
Nightlong vigil, drums, dancing, People's Assemblies, skills sharing, direct action trainings, candles, rites of exorcism and healing to bring Liberty back from the dead (and whatever else we can think of or get away with)
A government that does not reflect the will of the people is illegitimate
Shut it down! 7 AM nonviolent civil disobedience at the
Federal Building.
The choice is in our hands. The power is ours, if we take it. Take Back Our Democracy!
