Israeli Soldiers Murdered My Sister
"Israeli Soldiers Murdered My Sister"
San Francisco - "My name is Eyad Latif. I'm a freshman at Cal majoring in Middle Eastern studies. My parents and three little sisters moved back to the West Bank two years ago. Last year, when my mom was eight months pregnant, she was on her way to the hospital in an ambulance. Three Israeli soldiers stopped her at a checkpoint outside of Ramallah and wouldn't let her pass. She went into labor at the checkpoint and the three Israeli soldiers sat there and watched my mom almost bleed to death and then watched my baby sister die in her arms."
Eyad was one of 35,000 demonstrators who marched from Dolores Park to the San Francisco Civic Center in protest of the many gross human rights violations committed by the Israeli Army against Palestinians. (David Hanks/Global Exchange - Saturday 20 April 2002)

Our hearts' deepest respect and sympathy go out to this man and his family and the Palestinian people in their continuing struggle against such Israeli injustice and cruelty.
Both against that cruelty that he himself, (so sadly), has experienced at such a devestating and personal level; and also against those many other cruelties that as we have witnessed in the last few weeks have been imposed on such a massive scale and in such an indiscriminate fashion.
Undoubtedly and terribly sadly, such continued, (and continuing), cruelty has left many other innocent Palestinian families similarly devestated and grief stricken.
Our hearts and prayers are with you.
May there be justice and peace for Palestine and its people.

Amazing how these "penniless" Palestinians can afford to send their kids thousands of miles to attend college.
Some of us actually have to send ourselves to school becasue we don't have anyone that can afford to send us anywhere. Your assumption that someone sent him to school is telling.
poor palestinian,
go blow yourself up in a coffee shop or something...
go blow yourself up in a coffee shop or something...
Who are these fascist/right-wing bigots who continue to post anti-Palestinian messages on this forum?
I mean, I am a strong believer in Free Speech, but some of these comments are just plain ignorant! I was one of the 15-30,000 protesters who marched on 20 April. Myself and 67 other comrades came up all the way from San Diego for the wonderful event.
I encourage these bewildered drones (who continue to post racist rhetoric on this site) to come to one of our demonstrations and see the solidarity! You can't even explain the surge of emotions that goes through your body when you are participating in these struggles for social justice.
I always ask myself to take a look around me a realise the amazing impact and implications of my surrounding protesters; where else will you find people, together, in solodarity marching alongside one another from the age of 4 months old to 89 years old? Where is this diversity in the "United" $tates? When do young, old, black, white, brown, and all the other colours of the rainbow join together? Working-class, poor, middle-class, and even a few concerned rich folks (gasp!).
Perhaps our demonstrations are a microcosm of what is to come in a more free society; a more humane and just world.
This isn't "hippy bullshit"--this is what I see with my own eyes.
Last Saturday I saw Palestinian children chanting "Free, Free Palestine!" alongside African-American children. I saw Veterans for Peace marching alongside current enlistees in our horrible military system. And it is not "racist" to focus on the colourful diversity, the bi/transgender/gay/straight alliances-- this simply illustrates one simple fact; we can co-exist, peacefully.
So, a note to our confused and misinformed rebels who continue to post their anonymous, hateful comments on this site: You can't break our spirit! (In fact, you only express the inner-turmoil of your own low-self-esteem)
Free Palestine! Free Mumia (and all political prisoners)! Stop this fucking war before it destorys us all!

check your facts, buddy,
free world??
enemies of the US are all but free and liberal countries:
Iraq, Iran, Lybia, the Taliban regime and yes, even your beloved palestinian authority. all regimes that forbid free speech and any kind of opposition to their government. try opposing to Yasser Arafat's regime and you'll end up like those three poor souls that were lynched in the west bank by a palestinian mob yesterday.
so much for free speech.

...governments supress organic life and free speech. Protesters "protest" that. Protesters are for the "people"... just like you and me... (unless you are for the government). It's about the "people"
Even if the palistinians are under an oppressive government... so are the isralies, at least oppressive to their neighbors. So even if some of our enemies are oppressive (which i highly dissagree with), so are some of our friends
There is an old saying in the CIA - "Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer." All those countries that pro-america lists off as our enemies are all CIA clients - all trained and equipped by the CIA. Have a nice day. Love, Karie
in various stories, eyad has said it his sister, and then in other stories it is his sister's kid who died.
yet more lies from the palestinians, whether it be german tv proving muhammed al-dura was killed by palestinian bullets, or the non-massacre in jenin, the Big Lie keeps coming from the palestinian side

another picture documenting the lynch. if you wonder why you haven't seen these images on CNN or other networks, it's because the palestinians threaten to kill any jurnalist who dares to publish the images.

mind you - those three poor palestinians were only suspected by the angry palestinian mob of assisting israel.
is this what power to the people mean? is that your worthy cause?

Jewish minister in South Africa calls for boycott on Israel
CAPE TOWN - A Jewish minister in the South African government threw his weight behind pressure for sanctions against Israel on Tuesday and said in an interview he would take the call to the cabinet soon.
Water Affairs and Forestry Minister Ronnie Kasrils, a former African National Congress (ANC) guerrilla, joined a small street protest in Cape Town by Jews and Muslims opposed to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
"I am Jewish born. Since Israel purports to speak and act in the name of Jews everywhere ... we are saying: No, not in my name. Never," he told Reuters in an interview later.
Kasrils and Cape Town Jewish businessman Max Ozinsky launched a petition last year distancing themselves from the actions of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his government. Kasrils yesterday said the time had come for him to back calls for a boycott of Israeli goods and the isolation of its government.
"People are saying that there should be boycotts, there should be sanctions ... I support the call now for the isolation and the boycott of Israel. I support sanctions," he said. "That is actually in the interests of all the people - Muslims, Jews and Christians - in the Middle East because the sooner we can stop this conflict ... the sooner we can get to negotiations, to a settlement for peace and a recognition of the Palestinian people's national rights."
Kasrils said he had discussed his support for the Palestine Support Group in South Africa and its demand for action against Israel with cabinet colleagues and with South African President Thabo Mbeki.
"It's something that I am raising, that I certainly will be raising, in the cabinet now ... I think the leadership of our country will have to deal with this issue," he said.
The ANC and its allies, the South African Communist Party and the Congress of South African Trade Unions, have called for strong action against Israel and in support of Palestine. Mbeki has criticized Sharon's government, but has not taken a public stance on calls for sanctions.
Kasrils said he had received death threats and public abuse from Jews since he began to speak out against Israel's actions. Jewish leaders have disowned him. "The Jewish community here has been brainwashed," Kasrils said. Only 300 of an estimated 75,000 South African Jews had signed his "Not in my Name" petition.
"We know the confined nature and the narrow point of view and the bigotry of the established leadership of the Jewish people in this country," he said.

Greeks like to fuck each other up the ass, right? Yeah, let's listen to them.
so what? one more terrorist killed by the IDF. good riddans. who cares if the sodiers have their picture taken?
this is the price of conducting terrorist acts and killing israeli children.

first of all, the child Muhammad Dura was killed by the palestinians, not by the israelies, that was proven by an independent german television network six months ago.

A revealing article in Ha'aretz has a revealing quote on Arab efforts to boycott America:
"The boycott is the way the Arab public can let off steam," says a Jordanian official. "It has to be viewed for now as a slogan that is also exploited by anti-government forces. We are now living in a global age in which no single Arab country can refrain from buying products from a high-quality and inexpensive source, even if that source is Israel or America. We, perhaps more than others, have to know that economic sanctions do not work. Has Iraq changed its policies because of the economic sanctions? How many years was Libya under such sanctions? And Iran? If we had products to sell to Israel, that would be another story. But as a slogan, boycott is excellent. And that after all is where our expertise lies--in slogans."
http://news.haaretz.co.il/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=155201
Poor Berkeley, Calif., can't even agree on slogans anymore. The Associated Press reports that the Berkeley City Council voted against a measure to boycott Israel.

What's your problem pigs? What's your problems with the palestine people? They are slaughtered day after day by the nazi israel army and you are saying that they are the bad guys. But it doesn't surprise me.
In your school they didn't taught you about your fucking gonverment and its relationship with the nazis.
You fucking nazi friends.
Oh and about cyprus. You sold in 1974 cyprus to the turcish people.
Remember that you can fly.september 11 th proved it

Last month Israely actions prove that Osama was right . The genocide against Palestinians must not continue
There is a big difference between supporting the Palestinian cause, supporting Arafat and accusing all Jews for Sharon's crimes.
I don't believe that all Jews are nazis. There are many Jews that do not aprove the invasion in Palstine.
I do not believe that the situation in Iraq, Egypt is nice, neither that Milosevic was a good guy.
I do not believe that Cyprus belong to Greece, neither that it belongs in Turkey.
I am not a homosexual, but I have no problem with homosexuals either. It is a matter of personal opinion.
I do not believe that all americans are nazis, or that all of them are in favor of the "war against terrorism".
I do not believe that to stop a few "terrorists" you must kill all man and children in Palestine.
I believe that you have to fight the causes that drove them to become "terrorists". You have to fight poverty, opression, lack of education etc. Let's not forget that there are many american terrorists. From what I can recall, you had some buildings blown up from americans too.
I believe in the right for people to decide for their goverment.
I believe that Cyprus belongs tou it's people. Neither Greece, nor Turkey.
I believe in a society with true freedom of speach, equal rights for all, with no hunger, no unemployment, with free education for everyone. A society that respects everyones differences.
Because the Greeks have made crimes in the past, the Egyptians have made crimes in the past, the Americans have made crimes in the past. I think the only solution (if we follow thought like that) would be a nuclear bomb to wipe out the entire planet.
P.S. I'm sorry about the poor english

How can u be so brainwashed from your media? You probably believe that the US government protects world peace by bombing Iraq, Afghanistan, Serbia or Somalia! Who helped Saddam to take control of Iraq? The US government. They wanted somebody in the area to get in war with Iran and the "disturbing" Islamic government of 1970’ s-1980. This drove to the 10-year war between Iran-Iraq. Who helped the Taliban take control of Afghanistan? The US government. They wanted somebody to resist against the soviets. They helped them during the war and they trusted them as their "hand" near Iran and the ex-soviet union. Nowadays, who helps dictator Musharaff to keep control of Pakistan? The US government. They want somebody to keep an eye on Afghanistan when the war will end. Who helped the dictators in Greece to take power? The US government. They wanted somebody who would follow their orders, instead of the elected government of those years. The result was the war in Cyprus between Greece and Turkey. And, hey, Cyprus is neither Greek nor Turkish, Cyprus is of itself. How do u know, living some thousand miles away from here?! Now turn on your TV, learn whatever they want u to learn and then come back here to tell us about "terrorists" and “fighters of freedom”. Oh, and in the meantime, why don't u open a book or something? And about all that lynch thing: there is a war down there and as in all wars traitors get punished by death. What about the Guantanamo prisoners or that American-Taliban guy? And here is a question for u smart guy: Why your powerful intelligence, government, army etc haven’t yet killed Saddam or Bin Laden or Arafat or Homeini or Milosevic or any other of your “enemies”? Can’t they find them? Or maybe they need them to keep sheep like u near them? Now give us a break! I could keep writing for days, but I ‘ll let u find something by yourself, poor, poor American…
Who is occuping cyprus?? My friend just because you don't know anything about history don't mean that you can say anything you want. Before the turcish attack at 1974 while we had dictotorship in Greece (wich was supported by YOUR goverment) the turks were only the 20% of the population. So cut the craps Cyprus belongs to it's people and to noone else.
P.S.If you don't know don't speak.
P.S.Learn some history
P.S.If you don't know don't speak.

I thought i was going to cooperate with the taliban regime to drive off the Soviets, but now they say i must kill taliban....It is so hard to be an american hero afterall...but its paying good...

The UN still has had a peacekeeping force on the island since 1959.. Despite their presence, there was a Turkish invasion in 1974. Since then, the island has been split in two parts. In 1983, the north of the island proclaimed itself the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is recognized only by Turkey. Greece controls the southern half.

First of all, why does the US needs israel to have an hold of the world oil merkets, doesn't it loses pointes with Saudi Arabia, Kueit, Iraq and other arab countries by supporting israel? Wouldn't it be tightening it's relations with the muslim world by allowing the tiny Israel to be destroyed?
Those seven wars Israel participated in were all initiated by Israel's enemies, and never by Israel, all but one - the invasion to Lebanon to kick out terrorist groups who conducted acts of terror on Israel's northern cevilian population.
Oh yeah, in case you forgot - Israel has offered the Palestinians their own state. Almost two years ago Ehud Barak had offered to end the 'occupation', by granting the palestinians 99% of the 'occupied' territories (keeping jewish holy places in jerusalem, and compensating the palestinians with land from southern Israel). The palestinians has responded by initiating a massive terrorist attack against Israeli jewish population.
The so called 'occupied' territories were won by Israel in the 'Six day war' of 1967 from Jordan, after three arab countries attacked Israel. Yes, Israel has initiated a preemptive strike, but that was only after it was clear that a war was inevitable. Remember - arab armies were six time larger than the Israeli IDF.
When pro-palestinian news networks as CNN, CBS etc. count palestinian losses they include suicide bombers and gunman.
Very important, palestinian people didn't even exist before 1957, the palestinian nationalism was created by Egyptian president Nazer after he was defeated by Israel in it's early years. That was 10 years after the establishment of Israel.

This probably makes you Jew bashers feel all warm and fuzzy. You won't read reasoned analysis of the situation. You are marching lock step and determined to spread hatred. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
The terrorist attacks by Palestinian suicide bombers in Jerusalem and Haifa have prompted coverage marred in many cases by a jarring lack of context in the commentary and questions of journalists. Almost entirely omitted is even minimal reference to key information, such as the Palestinian Authority's role and responsibility in indoctrinating its youth to hate and kill Israelis, the PA arresting terrorist suspects only to release them when the media spotlight subsides, or the no-win situation of the Palestinian Authority being either unwilling or unable to contain the terrorism.
On cable networks such as CNN and MSNBC, which have given the terrorist attacks lengthy coverage, some desk anchors (Leon Harris has been an admirable exception at CNN) and reporters based in Israel have failed to raise such issues in interviews with Palestinian spokespeople or to remind viewers of past conduct by Arafat and the PA. (Once again, Fox News displays more depth and consistency in providing background and context.)
In the midst of the Jerusalem attack, against the backdrop of images of stunned and traumatized Israelis attending to the dead and wounded, MSNBC, for example, interviewed Palestinian Ziyad Abu Ziyad. The MSNBC anchorwoman permitted him to focus overwhelmingly on Palestinian grievances - as though to suggest the carnage being seen on camera was a necessary result of Israel's allegedly brutal policies. So inordinately long was the interview that Ziyad himself actually protested that he could not continue to be on the phone all night with them.
• CNN's Jerrold Kessel, a veteran correspondent in the region, offered rote references to the potential impact of the carnage on the mission of the recently-arrived US envoy, but did not remind viewers that Arafat himself stokes anti-Israel hatred and violence. He stated:
The Palestinians say that they have done what they have needed to do in terms of controlling the militants. And this evening a very strong statement of condemnation from Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority of this terror outrage in Jerusalem, not only expressing condolences and regret at the loss of life and of the civilian casualties, but also in the terms of that statement, making it plain that they Palestinian Authority believes this is really counter to Palestinian interest, this kind of terror attack in the heart of Jerusalem.
Kessel does not remind viewers about Arafat's actions last June at the time of the Dolphinarium terrorist murders of 21 in Tel Aviv. Though Arafat supposedly condemned that attack too - in English - he later sent a letter of condolence and congratulation in Arabic via the Palestinian Embassy in Jordan to the Palestinian family of the bomber. He termed the Dolphinarium bomber "heroic" and a "model of manhood." When the letter (see below) came to light on German television, the PA called it a forgery, but offered no evidence to substantiate these forgery claims and did not discipline those in its Jordanian embassy allegedly responsible for perpetrating the forgery. Unfortunately, few in the media gave any attention to this instance of Arafat's manipulation and double-speak.
• Arafat's personal role in defaming Israel, engendering hatred and promoting violence has also included frequent calls for Jihad and incendiary, false charges of Israeli brutality. On May 26, 2001 in Doha, Qatar, Arafat addressed the Organization of the Islamic Conference, charging that Israel uses "depleted uranium, poison gases and radioactive material" against Palestinians. He said Israelis "try by all means to obliterate and destroy our Islamic and Christian holy places, and Judaize our Holy Jerusalem."
• Many interviewers also give the Palestinians a free pass when they speak of "occupation" and "Israeli state sponsored terrorism." A frequent comment by Palestinian spokespersons regarding Palestinian terrorist attacks is to say that Israelis perpetrate daily terrorist attacks against Palestinians, killing children and destroying homes...
Just as US and allied forces are targetting terrorists and their infrastructure in Afghanistan, so too are the Israeli soldiers targetting terrorists and their infrastructure in the Palestinian territories. Although tragically sometimes civilians are hit, the US and Israel are not aiming at civilians - in sharp contrast to the Palestinian terrorists who target Israeli civilians. Responding to terrorists is not "state terrorism," as the Palestinans so frequently allege.
• Another frequent talking point for the Palestinian spokespersons is that Israeli security checkpoints at borders lead to Palestinian suffering and cause terrorism. The vast majority of roadblocks and security checkpoints were only put into place AFTER terrorist attacks to enhance security. It was terror against Israelis which led to the roadblocks, not the other way around.
In response to terrorist threats, America too has increased its security along the Canadian and Mexican borders. The increased security has inconvenienced millions of Canadians, Mexicans and Americans, disrupting business and social life, but North Americans understand and appreciate the added security; they do not respond to the inconvenience with terrorist attacks against Americans.
• Palestinians claim that the "occupation" causes terrorism. However, more than 96% of Palestinians live under the rule of the Palestinian Authority - not Israel. This can hardly be called "occupation." Israelis do not occupy on an ongoing basis any large Palestinian population centers. Israel has temporarily re-entered some Palestinian towns after terrorist attacks to round up terrorist suspects (after Arafat refused to do the job), but this has only been very recently and very temporarily.
• And finally, nothing excuses terrorism. It is unseemly to allow Palestinian spokespersons to speak at length about their excuses for terrorism at the very time when Israelis are gathering the scattered body parts of their teenagers. Questions should focus on how the Palestinians can stop the terrorism or on what actions they have (or have not) taken in the past - not on their "grievances."

This kind of thing makes Jew bashers happy. They like to see pictures of dead Jews, whether they be innocent civilian babies or helpless old people. Dead Jews make terrorists happy.

Instead of factual reporting, the mainstream media has placed culpability on both parties, creating a perception of equal aggression, of a 'cycle' of violence.
The April 1 edition of Newsweek carried the ominous headline: How will Israel survive? Most of us thought we'd never have to hear the question again. But with psychopaths cashing in on Iraqi-sponsored life insurance policies at the expense of innocent Israeli civilians daily, the dramatic headline is more than fitting. The problem isn't the headline, however, it's that Newsweek answers its rhetorical question with cliches and historical misconceptions that have contaminated mainstream coverage of the Middle East for years.
Israel, one of the most technologically advanced and humane nations on earth, a marvel of postwar economic and scientific development, is under attack. A concerted Arab effort to encourage terror against Jews (Iraq's payment of suicide bombers' families would be enough for any sane nation to declare war), coupled with the rise Muslim fundamentalism puts Israel's existence into serious danger for the first time since 1973.
Palestinians, pawns in a regional push to eliminate Jews in the Middle East, have instigated a war against the civilian population of Israel -- a portion of which was previously sympathetic to their cause. Over the past decades the PLO, the world's leading terrorist organization, has morphed into the Palestinian Authority, but their goal remains the same: the destruction of Israel. Journalists have long overlooked the historical details of this conflict. The widow struggling to cross an Israel checkpoint, the boy throwing harmless rocks at an occupying Israeli tank, the story of a disenfranchised people is dramatic. It sells. Instead of factual reporting, the mainstream media has placed culpability on both parties, creating a perception of equal aggression, of a 'cycle' of violence.
Since the Arab world has transferred its failed military campaign against Israel into a diplomatic and public relations siege, they have used an underprivileged Palestinian population as their primary weapon against Israel. Jordanian King Hussein described this strategy as early as 1960 in an interview with an Associated Press: "Since 1948 Arab leaders have approached the Palestine problem in an irresponsible manner. They have not looked into the future. They have no plan or approach. They have used the Palestinian people for selfish political purposes. This is ridiculous and, I could say, criminal."
What King Hussein understood about his own people, American journalists are still oblivious to. Arabs have been negligent of Palestinian rights, many times prolonging their misery in effort to undermine Israel. This plan is bearing fruits now, as homicidal fanatics with little to lose, blow themselves up among women and children in Netanya, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
It all begins with the presumption that the West Bank and Gaza are 'occupied territory.' While most Israelis have come to terms with the fact some form of Palestinian autonomy is forthcoming, at the very least these lands should be considered 'disputed' territories. The phrase 'occupied territory' has become universally accepted, however, despite its historical complexity. Newsweek's recent coverage of Israel, for instance, uses the phrase countless times without even mentioning a challenging view.
Fact is, Jews have had a continued presence in Israel for 3,000 years and have never relinquished their claim. Arabs rejected the United Nations resolution of November 29, 1947 calling for the establishment of two states in Palestine, with an all out war to eliminate Jews enacted by the Arab world. After the 1967 War -- another war of Arab aggression -- Israel recovered a small remnant (13% in whole) of what was promised to them by the UN -- eventually handing back the Sinai Desert for peace with Egypt in 1977.
Between 1948-1967, Jordan and Egypt, who governed the West Bank and Gaza, respectively, never offered to surrender those lands to form an independent Palestinian state. No Palestinian organization ever sought an independent state. No Arab country had even suggested its existence. An Arab Palestine has never been the name of any nation or state. 'Palestine' was a geographical term used only to identify administrative boundaries within larger empires, nothing more.
The purpose of a separate Palestinian State was defined faultlessly by the late Zoher Moessein, head of PLO bureau of military operation:
"There is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians and Lebanese; we are all members of the same nation. Solely for political reasons are we careful to stress our identity as Palestinians. Since a separate State of Palestine would be an extra weapon in Arab hands to fight Zionism with. Yes, we do call for the creation of a Palestinian state for tactical reasons. Such a state would be a new means of continuing the battle against Zionism, and for Arab unity."
An offshoot of the occupation myth is the 'refugee' fabrication. It states that a significant portion of the Arab population was driven out of Israel by force during the 1948 War. It makes for good copy, but it's false. Egyptian activist, Edward Said, the most famous of these "refugees," for example, has been exposed as a fraud, as has this revisionist history.
Mark Twain, a man, one would think, as devoid of 'imperialistic Zionist' intentions, wrote in 1867 that Palestine was "a desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds." Yet, Arabs have claimed that over a million refugees were forced from their homes during the 1948 War of Independence -- this number includes Arabs whose relatives entered Israel from 1946 onward. The number of Arab refugees is probably closer to 400,000, most of whom took it upon themselves to flee despite Jewish assurances that they would not be harmed. The contention that Arabs were removed by gunpoint is totally incorrect. Research by the Arab-sponsored Institute for Palestinians Studies in Beirut found that "the majority of the Arab refugees in 1948 were not expelled and 68 percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier."
In her meticulously researched book, From Time Immemorial, Joan Peters proves that a roughly equivalent number of Jewish refugees were expelled from Arab nations during the same period -- 120,000 from Iraq alone. It is estimated that one million immigrants were integrated into Israel's society from 1948-1950.
None of them, on the other hand, were confined for life to refugee camps.

UPDATE: Jenin
April 30 ,2002: A young boy arrives at the bombed out school building, today functioning as a provisory gathering place for the persons who want to rapport their missing relatives or friends. We are now in what was Jenin's refugee camp. Since 1948, when the state of Israel was proclaimed, this camp has been the temporary housing for about 15.000 Palestinians. The patient Palestinian clerks list long rows of names. Normally they used to work in a building which until some days ago was Jenins Cityhall. But the Cityhall is destroyed, as all of the official buildings In Jenin have been destroyed by Apache helicopters. story
April 27, 2002: "Born To Be Dead in Palestine"
Palestinians are so despairing about a U.N. mission to the ruined Jenin refugee camp that they have left spray-painted messages in crude English for the fact-finders on what remains of their homes. "Is this moral? Israeli crimes must be stopped!" read one pile of rubble. Another said: "Sharon: Killing Civil People Don't Lead to Peace." Other graffiti in Jenin warned the world not to turn its attention elsewhere once the dust settles: "We will not kneel to Sharon" and "Here, Sharon has made his grave." Read
April 25, 2002: A truck carrying humanitarian aid from the United States to Jenin refugee camp has been turned back by the residents of the camp. The aid, including baby clothes and toys, was being unloaded and the boxes were marked as ‘a gift from the United States’. Some of the goods were clearly manufactured and produced in Israel. One man pointed to the remains of two missiles fired from an Apache helicopter and stated that “this is the biggest gift we got from America.” A delivery of tents was also refused.
Despite the utter devastation and desperate need of the people, they are still able to make a political statement to the world. Children have become orphans, women are widowed, homes detroyed and America is complicit in this destruction and killing. The act of refusing this aid has empowered the people of the camp who, despite everything, wish to retain their dignity.
April 21, 2002: Reem Saleh lives in the Jenin refugee camp. She celebrated her 15th birthday three days before the Israeli tanks moved into Jenin city on April 3. As a gift her father, Jamal, a welder, gave her a pen and with it she wrote a diary recording how she and her family survived the next two weeks. By the end of that ordeal, she told me that she no longer wanted to be a teacher, or a nurse, but in her desperation wanted to be an amalieh Esteshhadieh, a suicide bomber on a martyr’s mission. She begins crying as she says this, but continues: story
April 18, 2002: A small group of internationals have managed to bring desperately needed food and water into Jenin camp, including fresh milk and vegetables. The people in the camp have had no fresh food for weeks and although this small amount has now reached them, it is no where near enough. More aid is needed, and quickly, particulary foodstuffs and nappies for babies and infants. In addition, there is no water supply so water is also urgently required.

IMC Palestine volunteer in Jenin camp: "It is horrible. You wouldn't believe the destruction. I don't know what to say." The situation in the camp has not improved much. Our reporter witnessed a man running past her, what was left of his hand blown off from a bomb left in a home. Medics on the scene attended to his injury but, as curfew has been re-imposed, it is not clear if he will be evacuated to the hospital. A child was also injured, fortunately not so seriously.
April 17, 2002: International volunteers in Jenin have reported that men are burying the dead. Women and children are wandering the streets in a dazed condition. It is still very dangerous as Israeli snipers are operating in the area. Whilst walking through the camp they have found parts of bodies, flesh and bone in the streets. They ar econtinuing to help with relief efforts and recording the evidence which they find.
In addition the Israeli army has prevented human rights lawyers access to Jenin hospital. report
April 16, 2002: Report from eye witness , "We entered Jenin camp on the morning of the 14th. It was and still is a closed military zone, but we didn’t ask permission to go in, and the few soldiers that saw us, did not intervene.
The lower portion of the camp appears to be almost completely deserted, except for some wandering chickens and goats, and it looks like every house has been damaged in some way by fire, or tank, or rockets... but some are still standing.
The destruction in the center of the camp though is total…a huge area that is nothing but rubble in what was once the densest, most populous, and poorest area of the camp…it was also the area of the strongest resistance.
Estimates from inside the camp varied between 250 – 350 homes demolished, or 450 to 600 families, perhaps 2000 people homeless.report & images
The bodies are decomposing and there’s all kinds of maggots and lice and flies eating the bodies account
A monstrous war crime that Israel has tried to cover up for a fortnight has finally been exposed. Its troops have caused devastation in the centre of the Jenin refugee camp, reached yesterday by ritish paper, The Independent, where thousands of people are still living amid the ruins. story
A fortnight ago, before Israeli forces invaded, this was a crowded, bustling place. The narrow alleys between the cinderblock homes - spanning barely the width of outstretched arms - were packed with children. images

Oh, well, i guess that crime (and terror) does not pay, As Jenin residents must have found out.
Sorry, those pictures WERE taken after the WTC bombing. There are several sites on Urban Legends (don't have links on hand, sorry) that discuss where this story came from and several points that verify the date of the picture. In addition, those photos were discussed AT LENGTH on this and several other sites after the bombing.
Serveral hundred or thousand mideasterners did celebrate the WTC bombing. That's a fact. No debate. The debate is whether that celebration means anything or is indicative of mid east thinking.
From my viewpoint - Isreal and Palestine are both pretty bad and the US should leave both alone. In addtion, people like Eyad (with his everchanging story )should act like the guests of America they are and keep their medival wars at home just as Isrealis in the US should. If he feels so strongly about his country he should go back and do something about it. Not disrupt the US.

MYTH
“Israel has no right to be in the West Bank. Israeli settlements are illegal.”
FACT
Jews have lived in the West Bank and Gaza Strip since ancient times. The only time Jews have been prohibited from living in the territories in recent decades was during Jordan's rule from 1948 to 1967. This prohibition was contrary to the Mandate for Palestine adopted by the League of Nations, which provided for the establishment of a Jewish state, and specifically encouraged "close settlement by Jews on the land."
Numerous legal authorities dispute the charge that settlements are "illegal." International law scholar Stephen Schwebel notes that a country acting in self-defense may seize and occupy territory when necessary to protect itself. Schwebel also observes that a state may require, as a condition for its withdrawal, security measures designed to ensure its citizens are not menaced again from that territory.1
According to Eugene Rostow, a former Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs in the Johnson Administration, Resolution 242 gives Israel a legal right to be in the West Bank. The resolution "allows Israel to administer the territories" it won in 1967 "until 'a just and lasting peace in the Middle East' is achieved," Rostow wrote.2
MYTH
“Settlements are an obstacle to peace.”
FACT
Settlements have never been an obstacle to peace. From 1949-67, when Jews were forbidden to live on the West Bank, the Arabs refused to make peace with Israel. From 1967-77, the Labor Party established only a few strategic settlements in the territories, yet the Arabs showed no interest in making peace with Israel.
In 1977, months after a Likud government committed to greater settlement activity took power, Egyptian President Sadat went to Jerusalem. Incidentally, Israeli settlements existed in the Sinai and those were removed as part of the peace agreement with Egypt.
One year later, Israel froze settlement building for three months, hoping the gesture would entice other Arabs to join the Camp David peace process. But none would.
In 1994, Jordan signed a peace agreement with Israel and settlements were not an issue. If anything, the number of Jews living in the territories was growing.
Settlement activity may be a stimulus to peace because it forced the Palestinians and other Arabs to reconsider the view that time is on their side. References are frequently made in Arabic writings to how long it took to expel the Crusaders and how it might take a similar length of time to do the same to the Zionists. The growth in the Jewish population in the territories forced the Arabs to question this tenet. "The Palestinians now realize," said Bethlehem Mayor Elias Freij, "that time is now on the side of Israel, which can build settlements and create facts, and that the only way out of this dilemma is face-to-face negotiations."3 Consequently, the Arabs went to Madrid and Washington for peace talks despite continued settlement activity. And all of the agreements signed with the Palestinians as part of the "Oslo process" have been negotiated without any change in Israel's settlement policy.
The question of settlements is a matter for the final status negotiations. The question of where the final border will be between Israel and a Palestinian entity will likely be influenced by the distribution of these Jewish towns. Israel wants to incorporate as many as possible within its borders while the Palestinians want to expel all Jews from the territory they control.
MYTH
“The Geneva Convention prohibits the construction of Jewish settlements in occupied territories.”
FACT
The Fourth Geneva Convention prohibits the forcible transfer of people of one state to the territory of another state that it has occupied as a result of a war. The intention was to insure that local populations who came under occupation would not be forced to move. This is in no way relevant to the settlement issue. Jews are not being forced to go to the West Bank and Gaza Strip; on the contrary, they are voluntarily moving back to places where they, or their ancestors, once lived before being expelled by others. In addition, those territories never legally belonged to either Jordan or Egypt, and certainly not to the Palestinians who were never the sovereign authority in any part of Palestine. "The Jewish right of settlement in the area is equivalent in every way to the right of the local population to live there," according to Professor Eugene Rostow, former Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs.4
The settlements also do not displace Arabs living in the territories. The media sometimes gives the impression that for every Jew who moves to the West Bank, several hundred Palestinians are forced to leave. The truth is that the vast majority of settlements have been built in uninhabited areas and even the handful established in or near Arab towns did not force any Palestinians to leave.
MYTH
“Israel is provocatively settling Jews in predominantly Arab towns, and has established so many facts on the ground territorial compromise is no longer possible.”
FACT
An estimated 80 percent of the settlers live in what are in effect suburbs of major Israeli cities such as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. These are areas that virtually the entire Jewish population believes Israel must retain to ensure its security.
Strategic concerns have led both Labor and Likud governments to establish settlements. The objective is to secure a Jewish majority in key strategic regions of the West Bank, such as the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem corridor, the scene of heavy fighting in several Arab-Israeli wars. Still, when Arab-Israeli peace talks began in late 1991, more than 80 percent of the West Bank contained no settlements or only sparsely populated ones.5
Today, approximately 200,000 Jews live in roughly 150 communities in the West Bank. The overwhelming majority of these settlements have fewer than 1,000 citizens. Analysts have noted that 80 percent of the Jews could be brought within Israel's borders with minor modifications of the "Green Line" (the unofficial boundary after 1967).
MYTH
“Israel must evacuate all Jewish settlements before a final peace agreement can be achieved with the Palestinians.”
FACT
The implication of many settlement critics is that it would be better for peace if the West Bank were Judenrein (empty of Jews). This idea would be called anti-Semitic if Jews were barred from living in New York, Paris or London; barring them from living in the West Bank, the cradle of Jewish civilization, would be no less objectionable.
Any peace settlement would inevitably permit Jews who preferred to live outside the State of Israel under Palestinian authority to live in the West Bank — just as Arabs today live in Israel. No Israeli government would be expected to enforce the kind of policies instituted by the British by which large areas of Palestine were declared off-limits to Jews.
MYTH
“At Camp David, during Jimmy Carter's presidency, Israel agreed to halt the construction of settlements for five years. Within months, Israel had violated the accords by establishing new settlements on the West Bank.”
FACT
The five-year period agreed to at Camp David was the time allotted to Palestinian self-government in the territories. The Israeli moratorium on West Bank settlements agreed to by Prime Minister Menachem Begin was only for three months. Begin kept this agreement.
Israel's position on the matter received support from an unexpected source: Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, who said: "We agreed to put a freeze on the establishment of settlements for the coming three months, the time necessary in our estimation for signing the peace treaty."6
The Palestinians rejected the Camp David Accords and therefore the provisions related to them were never implemented. Had they accepted the terms offered by Begin, it is very likely the self-governing authority would have developed long before now into the state the Palestinians say they desire.
MYTH
“U.S. loan guarantees provided Israel with billions of dollars from American taxpayers that was used to build settlements in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to house Soviet Jews.”
FACT
Since 1989, approximately one million Jews have immigrated to Israel. The majority, roughly 80 percent, have come from the former Soviet Union. Israel must provide these immigrants with food, shelter, employment and training. The task is even more challenging when it comes to absorbing Jews from relatively undeveloped countries like Ethiopia, who often must be taught everything from using a flush toilet to how to withdraw money from a bank. To meet these challenges, Israel has invested billions of dollars. In addition, the American Jewish community has contributed hundreds of millions of dollars through the United Jewish Appeal’s Operation Exodus campaign and other philanthropies.
Still, the task was so daunting, Israel turned to the United States for help. To put the challenge in perspective, consider that the United States — a country of 250 million people and a multi-trillion dollar GNP — admits roughly 125,000 refugees a year. In 1990 alone, nearly 200,000 Jews immigrated to Israel.
The United States led the Free World in helping secure the freedom of Soviet Jews. Since 1972, Congress has appropriated funds to help resettle Soviet Jews in Israel. Since 1992, $80 million has been earmarked for this purpose.
After the Soviet Union opened its gates, the trickle of immigrants became a flood — immigration from that country skyrocketed from fewer than 13,000 people in 1989 to more than 185,000 in 1990. Israel then asked for a different type of help. The United States responded in 1990 by approving $400 million in loan guarantees to help Israel house its newcomers.
Guarantees are not grants — not one penny of U.S. government funds is transferred to Israel. The U.S. simply cosigns loans for Israel that give bankers confidence to lend Israel money at more favorable terms: lower interest rates and longer repayment periods — as much as 30 years instead of only five to seven. These loan guarantees have no effect on domestic programs or guarantees. Moreover, they have no impact on U.S. taxpayers unless Israel were to default on its loans, something it has never done. In addition, much of the money Israel borrows is spent in the United States to purchase American goods.
When it became clear the flood of refugees was even greater than anticipated, and tens of thousands continued to arrive every month, Israel realized it needed more help and asked the United States for an additional $10 billion in guarantees.
In 1992, Congress authorized the President to provide guarantees of loans to Israel made as a result of Israel's extraordinary humanitarian effort to resettle and absorb immigrants. These guarantees were made available in annual increments of $2 billion over five years. While the cost to the U.S. government was zero, Israel paid the United States annual fees amounting to several hundred million dollars to cover administrative and other costs.
Under existing guidelines, no U.S. foreign assistance to Israel can be used beyond Israel's pre-1967 borders. Moreover, to underline dissatisfaction with Israel’s settlement policies, the President was authorized to reduce the annual loan guarantees by the amount equal to the estimated value of Israeli activities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip undertaken the previous year.
Thus, as the table indicates, the State Department determined that Israel spent just under $1.4 billion for settlement activity from 1993-1996. The President was authorized, however, to rescind deductions when making the funds available to Israel was in the security interests of the United States. President Clinton used this authority in the last three years of the program, so the actual reduction in the amount of guarantees available to Israel was $773.8 million.
The money related to settlements also had nothing to do with the new immigrants, none of whom were forced to live in the territories. In fact, only a tiny percentage chose to do so.
By all measures, the U.S. loan guarantee program was a huge success. Israel used the borrowed funds primarily to increase the amount of foreign currency available to the country’s business sector and to support infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, sewage and electrical plants. The guarantees also helped Israel to provide housing and jobs for virtually all of the new immigrants. Unemployment among immigrants, which peaked at 35 percent, has dropped to 6 percent, roughly the same rate as for the rest of the population.
Besides contributing to Israel's success in absorbing immigrants while maintaining economic growth, the loan guarantee program also sent a strong message to the private international capital markets about the confidence the U.S. has in Israel's ability to bear this potential economic burden. Consequently, Israel's credit rating was upgraded and Israel can borrow hundreds of millions of dollars in international financial markets on its own.
MYTH
“Israel has no right to build homes in Har Homa because it is part of Arab East Jerusalem and is yet another settlement project that will impede peace.”
FACT
Building in Har Homa represents the last phase of a larger municipal housing plan for the city of Jerusalem begun in 1968. The entire area of Har Homa is less than 460 acres. When the project began, it was completely vacant and is not adjacent to any Arab population.
The original decision to go forward with construction on Har Homa was made by Labor Prime Minister Shimon Peres in 1996; construction did not proceed because the issue was tied up in Israeli courts. The Israeli Supreme Court rejected appeals by both Jewish and Arab landowners and approved the expropriation of land for the project. The expropriations were undertaken on the basis of the fundamental common law principle of eminent domain, allowing governments to expropriate land from private owners for public use. Most of the land — 75% — was expropriated from Jews.
The construction plan was approved by the Netanyahu government after the Court's ruling to address a severe housing shortage among both Arabs and Jews in Jerusalem. The project will ultimately include 6,500 housing units, as well as schools, parks, public buildings and commercial and industrial zones. Construction plans for 3,015 housing units in 10 Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem will be implemented simultaneously with the Har Homa project.
“I believe that we should annex the Har Homa neighborhood, a neighborhood against which my movement fought a stupid campaign. Har Homa has a territorial contiguity with the State of Israel. To say that Har Homa disturbs the contiguity of the Palestiian territory, and to turn this in to a possible cause for war is rubbish, it's stupidity.”
— Peace Now leader Professor Amiram Goldblum7
Nothing in any of the agreements signed between the Palestinians and Israelis preclude building in Jerusalem. Both Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres made clear they had no intention of refraining from building in Jerusalem and never slowed down the pace of construction in the capital. Different sides of the Israeli political spectrum, including many Labor Party leaders, urged the Netanyahu government to proceed with the Har Homa project.
The Palestinians have also claimed that Har Homa will isolate them from the West Bank or limit their access to Jerusalem. When Har Homa is completed, however, considerable areas of territorial continuity between the Arab neighborhoods of eastern Jerusalem and the Palestinian areas of the West Bank will remain. Palestinians will also have the same access to Jerusalem they presently enjoy.

“The Mitchell Report made clear that Israeli settlement policy is as much to blame for the breakdown of the peace process as Palestinian violence and that a settlement freeze is necessary to end the violence.”
FACT
In November 2000, former U.S. Senator George Mitchell was appointed to lead a fact-finding committee to investigate the cause of the "al-Aksa Intifada" and explore how to prevent future violence. The report his committee issued did recommend a settlement freeze — as one of more than 15 different confidence-building measures — but Mitchell and Warren Rudman, another member of the committee, made clear that settlement activity was in no way equated with Palestinian terrorism. They explicitly stated in a letter clarifying their view: "We want to go further and make it clear that we do not in any way equate Palestinian terrorism with Israeli settlement activity, 'seemingly' or otherwise."
Mitchell and Rudman also disputed the idea that the cessation of settlement construction and terrorism were linked. "The immediate aim must be to end the violence....Part of the effort to end the violence must include an immediate resumption of security cooperation between the government of Israel and the Palestinian Authority aimed at preventing violence and combating terrorism." They added, "Regarding terrorism, we call upon the Palestinian Authority, as a confidence-building measure, to make clear through concrete action, to Israelis and Palestinians alike, that terror is reprehensible and unacceptable, and the Palestinian Authority is to make a total effort to prevent terrorist operations and to punish perpetrators acting in its jurisdiction."8

“Defense of settlements are nothing more than rationalizations for the perpetual occupation of the Palestinian people and their land.”
FACT
While making a strong case for its right to the territories, the Israeli government also acknowledges that Palestinians have legitimate claims to the area and that a compromise can be reached through negotiations:
Politically, the West Bank and Gaza Strip is best regarded as territory over which there are competing claims which should be resolved in peace process negotiations. Israel has valid claims to title in this territory based not only on its historic and religious connection to the land, and its recognized security needs, but also on the fact that the territory was not under the sovereignty of any state and came under Israeli control in a war of self-defense, imposed upon Israel. At the same time, Israel recognizes that the Palestinians also entertain legitimate claims to the area. Indeed, the very fact that the parties have agreed to conduct negotiations on settlements indicated that they envisage a compromise on this issue.9
In fact, Prime Minister Barak reportedly offered to give up more than 100 settlements, about two-thirds of the total, and to give the Palestinians control of roughly 96 percent of the West Bank. The Palestinians rejected the proposal.
MYTH
“The peace agreements Israel signed with the Palestinians prohibit settlement activity.”
FACT
Neither the Declaration of Principles of September 13, 1993, nor the Interim Agreement contains any provisions prohibiting or restricting the establishment or expansion of Jewish communities in the West Bank or Gaza Strip. In principal it is a war crime." Rep. Eliot Engel protested to the President of the ICRC, Jakob Kellenberger, who replied, "The expression 'war crime' has not been used by the ICRC in relation to Israeli settlements in the occupied territories in the past and will not be used anymore in the present context." He added, "The reference made to it on May 17 was inappropriate and will not be repeated."10

“Prime Minister Sharon has accelerated the construction of settlements in the West Bank and thereby sent a message to Palestinians that he has no interest in peace.”
FACT
As part of the coalition agreement he signed when he came to power in February 2001, Prime Minister Sharon said that no new settlements would be built. Construction was to be restricted to existing settlements to allow for natural growth of those communities. According to Peace Now, about 6,000 housing units, whose construction was begun under previous governments, are in various stages of completion. Roughly 80 percent of those are being built within three settlement blocs that the Palestinians agreed would remain intact during negotiations at Camp David and Taba.11 The final status of all the settlements is still to be determined in negotiations.
“If settlement-building is now concentrated in areas that the Palestinians themselves acknowledge will remain part of Israel in any future peace agreement, why the obsessive focus on settlements as an ‘obstacle to peace?’”

While a clause in the accords prohibits changing the status of the territories, it was intended to ensure only that neither side would take unilateral measures to alter the legal status of the areas (such as annexation or declaration of statehood).
MYTH
“The Red Cross has declared that Israeli settlements are a war crime.”
FACT
The Jerusalem representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Rene Kosimik, on May 17, 2001, said, "The installation of a population of the occupying power in occupied territory is considered an illegal move, it is a grave breach.
MYTH

I have read all the articles posted here. Everyone has there point, except for the moronic remarks. I am an american,my family originates from poland a country that has been under onothers thumb since the beginning of written history. All poeples have endured suffering. Then ,now, the future. If you all would use your humanity to make judgment of mankind instead of things you learn like culturally bias history books, news from tv, and Religious text, or what you father figure tought you. Who was only a man and fallible. We would all be better off. If the concept of religion would have never been invented we would only have ourselfs to blame, our greed, our lust for what the other has, and our shame for our own personal failures. No mythical being is going to step out of the clouds and say " THE WINNER OF THE 10.000 YR. OLD, WHO HAS THE CORRECT RELION ?LOTTERY. IS...." This dirt we fight over is going to be here long after we are all very far gone. Dinasours (if you believe in such beast) were also very terrortorial. Terror get it? Targeting the inocent for death to make any statement is wrong. At least that is what my humanity tells me. Those who do it know this. All humans know this it is one of the things that makes us a special part of the life here on earth. What seperate us from the animals, and connects us all as mankind to each other. Earth is one planet out of billions and we fight over it. So it is,so it will be. Not going to change before I die I'm sure. So I saccomb. I guess I will be just another warrior in a long line of my haritage, From midevel poland to modern times humanity cought in a stagnating endless loop. I'll see you on the sand. To bad, I liked your passion. In my opinion misguided, but passion nontheless. We might have been brothers if we haden't learned so much from differn't fathers.
well u sure made me feel dumb with my ideas. thanks. best of luck to you and yours. god is great and we are pawns. or are we?

I hoped my words might have rreached a better level of your smarts and let you see that we see more than what the gov. tells us. butt no. you judge through your gov. discription of me. and that makes me strong. because i have more choices than u. i chooose to see you as not knowing and there fore i wish you to live. take care of your self love joe

No, they're desperate. It must be the only effective weapon they have left. The Israelis blow up innocents regularly, so the terrorists hardly have a monopoly - in fact, on raw innocent killage, they can't even compete with state terror.
People don't hate Jews. This is a twisted little strawman you folks have set up by posting anti-semitic crap, and now you try to knock it down. How disingenious. If you were trying to do that properly, well, you could have done a better job, but since you did it so obviously; we can all see you who support the government of Israel at the expense of innocent lives (both Jewish and Palestinian) are using deceptive tactics therefore MUST be on some really shaky moral ground.

Hey "friend" from Greece, if Sharon is a fascist, why isn't he supporting Saddam Hussein? After all, Hussein is a Baathist, a.k.a. Arab National Socialist...
Oh wait, I get it now, it's just meant as a kneejerk gratuitous insult! Silly me.

What killed Mohammed al-Dura?
The evidence is inconclusive, but suggestive of it being in fact stray bullets from Palestinian AK-47s:

Well, "friend" from Greece, the answer to your question "Who's the terrorist?" in the photo of the veiled woman and the Israeli soldier above is NOBODY. It's obvious from the soldier's posture and the way he is holding his gun that he is trying to secure a position, NOT menace the woman and the two kids. The conversation is probably going like this: "Shame on you for frightening my poor children with your presence!" "I'm sorry, lady, but someone has been shooting in this neighborhood and we are just being cautious..." In fact, if anyone is in danger in the picture, it's the soldier because he is an easier target while being distracted by the woman.

<a href="URL">http://www.ict.org.il/articles/articledet.cfm?articleid=439">This study analyses casualties of the intifada 200-2002. Read the whole thing for the methodology and details. Some of the conclusions :
* Israeli fatalities in the al-Aqsa conflict have consisted of 80 percent noncombatants (and over 80 percent before the substantial IDF casualties suffered during the Jenin incursion of April 2002), Palestinian fatalities have consisted of more combatants than noncombatants.
* 40 percent of Israeli noncombatants killed by Palestinians have been female, compared to 8.4 percent of Palestinian noncombatants killed by Israel. At the time of the report, 70 Palestinian females had been killed; 190 Israeli females had been killed.
* over 30% of Israeli noncombatants have been 45 or older, compared with only 10% of Palestinian noncombatants.
* The number of Palestinians killed by actions of their own side – including suicide bombers, “work accidents”, collaborators, and people killed in intra-Palestinian fighting – has increased strongly over time. So far, over 200 Palestinians have died in this way.....this category does not include Palestinian “suicide shooters” .....or other attackers whose foolhardiness might be construed as “suicidal”.
* The overall pattern of Palestinian deaths is completely inconsistent with accusations that most of these fatalities resulted from random Israeli attacks on residential areas, mixed-sex crowds at roadblocks, or other ordinary civilian gatherings.
* Population segments like women or older people would not normally be specifically targeted for their military importance; thus their higher relative prevalence among Israeli fatalities is an indication of the degree to which these deaths were caused by random attacks on a civilian population.
* Among both Palestinians and Israelis, the number of young children (under the age of 10-11 years old) is comparatively small (although more young Israeli children were killed as a proportion of total fatalities). The number of Palestinian children killed begins to increase at about 10 years of age, and jumps up dramatically between the ages of 12 and 13. However, the increase consists entirely of boys – the number of Palestinian girls killed shows no age-trend, and is very low for all ages. Young Israelis killed by Palestinians show a different profile: Both boys and girls show an increase starting at age 14 (perhaps a year earlier for boys), and just as many teenaged girls were killed as teenaged boys.

It's such a shame that your sister was killed when the Israeli troops found it necessary to enter Jenin.
You should recognize that the people responsible are not the Israelis, but the Arab terrorists who provoked them into responding. This would include Hamas and other similar hate mongering terrorist organizations.
When the Arabs recognize Israel's right to exist, and stop such horrific incursions as the suicide bombing, then, and only then, will innocent people like your sister be safe.

Yeah, worldwide terrorism, slavery, killing women for being raped, killing gays for being gay (including an attempt to impose this law in Paris by assisating the gay Mayor),, death penalty for minor slights...
Oh sorry, that was what is done in the name of Allah.
SOrry I meantioned it, I know that any mention of the crimes committed by muslims is islamophobic and pro-zionist
mea culpa

People of the world, we must band together to free Prussia which has be occupied by invading forces since 1945. I need your support, after all Palestine and Prussia had the same problem, both countries foolishly started a war, and then lost. Now if that is not as good reason as any for getting their land back then I don’t know what is. Germans were uprooted, rape pillaged killed in large numbers as they tried to escape. Much worse then anything the Palestinians have yet faced. So can I count on your support to free Prussia? Or do you think the Germans should just get over it, like they already have and move on with their lives? Too Bad the Palestinians are not as understanding and forgiving as the Germans.
your an asshole im sure they had a good reason
go to hell
go to hell
rotter.net, you are a sick man or woman. i feel utterly sorry for both jews and arabs alike, and anyone else for that matter, who feel safe in hatred. you are anti-semetic (this term includes arabs) and anti-human. how can you actively and creatively condone the killing of palestinian children in the same breath that you condemn suicide bombing? what kind of human or jew are you?
Eyad is not lying. You're ignorant. Never has he said that it was his sister's baby. His sisters are just young girls themselves. I've known his family practically as long as I've known mine, even if you don'e agree with the politics.....have some compassion.
One who is truely wise has no need to state it. His actions will state it for him. Only a fool would claim that he is a "wise man."
Thanks there, Confucius.

I was born in Switzerland 1977. I live in peace since then. But the day a stranger goverment comes in my country and puts all of us swiss guys in camps taking all our rights... I'll be the first one to bomb them the fuck out of my country!
Well you know what, your right person from greece but you know what? you country doesn't even count! our country could obliterate you in minute. so leave america out of this.
WHO the hell gives nazis like you the right to exist!
well i guess you would, seeing that your country was NEUTRAL thru BOTH world wars.
The Us aid to Israel is absoutely immoral and Unamerican. If you read George Washington's farwell adress, you will understand the overwhelming sentiment that the United States should be a unilateral nation, without entangeling alliances. The american jewish lobby is to powerful to break off ties with Israel, and it is the only one that goes without restrictions, or insepctions.
As a fluent speaker of Hebrew, I can tell you that the "Hebrew" in this supposed letter is atrocious. I seriously doubt that anyone with a decent knowledge of Hebrew would have written like that.
Eyad that is the most Homosexual story i have ever heard.......p.s. are you a terrosist......?
It was proven that the photos were taken when the attacks on the US took place.
Westerner journalists were threatened, as the Palestinians use to doing.
The photos I was referring to are those where Palestinian children are celebrating the attacks on the US.
we in gaza think that we should get everything behind the green line of 1978 and we also want all our land back from jordan

"After they stabbed him, they carried him to the window and threw him out. He was stabbed so many times."
JERUSALEM - Hani Avrahami, the wife of one of the two Israelis killed by a Palestinian mob in Ramallah, heard from her husband's killers on a cell phone while he was being murdered Thursday.
She was surfing the Internet that afternoon and saw a report of Israeli soldiers in trouble in Ramallah. Anxious, she called the mobile phone her husband Yosef had taken with him to reserve duty.
No one answered at first. She tried again. This time a voice asked: "Who are you looking for?"
"Yossi, my husband," said Hani.
"I just killed your husband," said the voice.
It was another gruesome moment in a horrifying national experience as the families of the dead Israelis buried one yesterday and prepared to bury another - Avrahami - tomorrow.
Burying his brother Vadim yesterday, Mikhail Nourezitz was at a loss to fathom the Palestinian mob that killed him.
"Human beings can't do such things. Only animals. We cannot make peace with the sons of Satan," he told mourners at a cemetery in Or Akiva, north of Tel Aviv, as they lay his brother Vadim in his grave.
But then he swallowed his bitterness long enough for an urgent appeal to mourners: "Mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, Jews, I beg of you, don't deteriorate to their level. Don't go out on a lynch. Let our army handle it."
Israel was still numb yesterday from the oft-played television footage of a fierce crowd beating and stabbing the two Israelis to death at the Palestinian police station in Ramallah.
Vadim Nourezitz was 33, a newly married Russian immigrant. Yosef Avrahami, 39, was a toy salesman and father of three.
There was no question that the two Israelis were brutally murdered. But divergent Israeli and Palestinian accounts left several questions unanswered..
How many soldiers?
The biggest was the number of Israeli soldiers who were present when their civilian Ford Escort ended up in Palestinian-controlled Ramallah, some distance from the nearest Israeli military post.
The Israeli army says there were only Nourezitz and Avrahami.
"We're checking reports talking about one more Israeli, but we don't have evidence. We don't have any evidence of missing soldiers or settlers," said Army spokesman Yarden Vatikay.
Other accounts, collected from Palestinian witnesses who refused to be identified, a Palestinian journalist and the Israeli press, help to reconstruct what happened.
Palestinians at the scene say there were three or four men in the car. One Palestinian who spoke with nearby residents said two Israelis managed to escape the car as the mob smashed its windows.
One was attacked and his face bloodied.
But as the bulk of the mob followed the two earlier captives, the second two were put into an ambulance. A Palestinian medic was hit by someone in the crowd for helping the Jews, but the ambulance managed to leave the scene, the Palestinian said he was told.
Another unanswered question was why the Israelis entered Ramallah, a city fully controlled by the Palestinian Authority.
The Israeli Army says they apparently strayed in by mistake through side roads on their way to their base. They did not pass through one of the Israeli checkpoints that in the past week have barred Israelis from Palestinian-controlled territory.
The Hebrew-language Yediot Ahranot newspaper said the two soldiers had been told to report to a nearby Israeli base at Beit El to serve as drivers. On their way, they made a wrong turn, passed through an Israeli roadblock 50 yards from another base, Ofer, and kept driving toward Ramallah.
Driving past the Ofer entrance, the soldiers, who were in uniform and carrying guns, came upon the Palestinian checkpoint less than two miles away..
Stopped by police
Palestinian police at the roadblock ordered the two Israelis out of the car and grabbed their weapons, according to Yediot. The Palestinians got into the car with the soldiers and, at gunpoint, told them to drive to Ramallah. The Ford Escort drove into the city and toward a school near a small Palestinian police station.
Accounts of what happened next vary, but all concur on the scene's awesome rage and bloodlust.
Yediot reports that once in Ramallah, the Israelis were forced to walk to the police station and taken inside. Israeli government spokesman Nachman Shai said the pair were "given to the mob."
The Palestinian who talked to witnesses said trouble began when the car approached a funeral procession for a young Palestinian killed in anti-Israeli riots.
A young man in the crowd spotted the car with Israelis inside and shouted "mustarabim," the name for the hated Israeli commandos who operate undercover in Palestinian territory. Other witnesses said members of the crowd noticed weapons inside the car.
The Israelis flatly deny that the soldiers were part of an undercover unit.
The car tried to back up, only to be blocked by an angry mob. Two soldiers were pulled from the front seats.
Palestinian police, coming from the gate to the station, fought the crowd to get the soldiers into the police station, according to witnesses interviewed.. The crowd started beating on the soldiers, and seized their weapons.
Within minutes, the crowd grew.
Some in the crowd managed to follow the police and soldiers into the headquarters.
"They said they wanted to go get them. There were people coming from all directions. ... They were yelling defiant slogans, 'Allah Akhbar,'" said a Palestinian journalist, Maher Abukhater, referring to the Arabic for "God is Great," a Palestinian rallying cry.
At some point, a group of Palestinian riot police, in helmets and carrying batons, arrived in three vehicles near the police station.
"They took their positions but already some of the youths were climbing trees, trying to get into the building," said a 37-year-old Palestinian witness who asked not to be identified.
"They got into the building through the windows."
Another group stormed the police station's iron gate and pushed their way in, said the witness.
Standing on the sidewalk outside the building, the Palestinian man said, he could see the two soldiers through the window in the office of the police commander. Looking up toward the window, he said, he saw one soldier being stabbed.
"After they stabbed him, they carried him to the window and threw him out. He was stabbed so many times. It was knives. I never saw the second one. I only saw one soldier being stabbed."
Police pushed journalists away from the entrance, but what happened next was captured by a cameraman for an Italian TV station: One of the soldiers, in Army boots, being thrown from the window to the mob below.
The mob set upon the soldier and carried him to a traffic circle about a block away, where some tried to put a tire around his body and set it afire. An argument broke out over doing this.
Bodies brutalized
Just then, an ambulance drove up, and workers pulled the body away from the crowd.
None of the witnesses saw what happened to the second soldier inside the police station. But Vatikay said that when the bodies were turned over to Israeli authorities later, they were in "very, very bad" condition.
Both were brutalized; one was also burned.
"I talked to the [Israeli] doctor who saw the bodies. He was crying," said Roni Shaked, the Israeli journalist who wrote the grim account in Yediot.
"He said it was exactly like a tank went over their bodies."

Then that person shouldn't have been arrested, according to you, because law is the same for everybody.

Joan Peters' book has been shown to be basically a fraud. Anyone who cites it is a delusional bigot.
All your drivel is just that; drivel.
The situation is clear. Israel has no right to Gaza and the WB and must leave both if it wants peace.
Nice try.
