Legendary Bob Dylan visits Pope Leo XlV at the Vatican
In recent days Pope Leo voted in the midterms, after feud with Trump
By Lynda Carson - November 4, 2026
Earlier today, 85-year old, musician, poet, folk singer, song writer Bob Dylan a.k.a. Robert Allen Zimmerman met Pope Leo XlV in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace.
Reportedly, according to the Vatican release, “The renowned American singer-songwriter and poet—a Nobel laureate in literature, currently touring Italy with a stop in Rome—was received this afternoon at the Apostolic Palace by Leo XIV. The Pontiff had previously quoted his lyrics in the preface to a book on disarmament.”
Additionally, according to the Vatican, in part it’s News release says, “He had quoted him in July 2026, when—in the preface to a book published by the Vatican Publishing House (LEV) titled Disarmed and Disarming: Peace Is a Gift—he used words from one of his poetic compositions (figuratively addressed to the atomic bomb) to issue a stern warning against global rearmament and the nightmare of nuclear weapons: “I hate you cause yer man-made and man-owned, an’ man-handled”. Today in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace, Pope Leo XIV met in person with Robert Allen Zimmerman, known as Bob Dylan https://www.bobdylan.com/news/ .
The 85-year-old American singer-songwriter and poet, a Nobel Prize laureate in literature, is currently in Rome. Tomorrow, Thursday, November 5, he will perform at the Palazzo dello Sport https://www.bobdylan.com/date/2026-11-05-rome-italy-palazzo-dello-sport/ as part of the autumn leg of his “Rough and Rowdy Ways” tour—a concert series that also includes stops in Milan and Bologna, and is notable for its strict prohibition on smartphone recording.
The meeting between Pope Leo and Dylan—who wore a black hooded sweatshirt—was brief, consisting of greetings and a few lighthearted exchanges. The Holy Father presented the singer with a rosary, while Dylan reciprocated with a book: Chronicles: Volume One, his autobiography, which has been published in the United States and other countries around the world.
Quoting a Nobel laureate
The verses cited by the Pope in the book published by LEV, edited by journalist Alessandro Banfi, come from “Go Away You Bomb,” a protest song written by the artist in 1963, at the height of Cold War tensions. It is a unique piece, given that the song was never officially recorded or released on any music album, and the original manuscript remained unpublished until its discovery in 2013.
A performance before John Paul II
This is not the first time that the “minstrel” of rock—a nickname he has held since the beginning of his career in the 1960s—has met a Pope. In 1997, Dylan was invited to perform alongside other artists at the 23rd National Eucharistic Congress in Bologna, before the Pope—then John Paul II—and a crowd of approximately 300,000 young people. The collective memory retains the image of the singer who, after performing three of his great classics—including “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”—removed his cowboy hat, climbed the steps to the papal stage, and exchanged a handshake and a few brief words with Pope John Paul.
In his address to the young people at the event, the Pope explicitly quoted the lyrics to “Blowin’ in the Wind”: “You ask me: how many roads must a man walk down / before you can call him a man?” The Polish Pope answered this question by saying: “Only one. There is only one road for man, and that is the road of Jesus Christ.”
Trump’s Nuclear Weapons Madness Threatens Humanity.
Pope Leo is right to speak out against nuclear weapons in opposition to the Trump regime’s arms race policy of creating a whole new batch of nuclear weapons with the so-called ‘National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)’.
The Trump regime and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) are presently involved in a nuclear weapon’s arms race to create a ‘whole new line of nuclear weapons’, in addition to refurbishing all of the existing ‘nuclear weapons’ in the US stockpile of nuclear weapons.
The convicted felon President Donald J. Trump regime wants a 35% increase in the budget for nuclear weapons for FY 2027.
That’s right! The convicted felon President Donald J. Trump, and the Department of Energy (DOE), wants $32.80 billion for the fiscal year of 2027, a substantial increase that signals where the administration intends to focus its nuclear strategy https://www.energy.gov/documents/doe-fy-2027-volume-1-wa .
Reportedly with Legis 1 on August 12, 2026, in part a report about nuclear weapons says, “A recent Congressional Research Service (CRS) report examines the National Nuclear Security Administration's fiscal year 2027 budget request and the legislative proposals that could reshape how the agency manages nuclear weapons and nonproliferation work.
The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), a semiautonomous agency within the Department of Energy, is requesting $32.80 billion for the coming fiscal year, a substantial increase that signals where the administration intends to focus its nuclear strategy. Congressional skepticism exists about whether plutonium pit production targets can be met on schedule and within budget. The stakes extend beyond budgets. Proposed legislation would expand NNSA's authority to develop new nuclear weapons, accelerate plutonium pit production requirements, and reshape how Congress receives information about the stockpile.
Weapons Activities, which covers development, production, certification, and maintenance of the U.S. nuclear warhead stockpile, accounts for 84% of NNSA's total budget in the fiscal year 2027 request at $27.44 billion. That represents a 35% increase from the $20.38 billion enacted for fiscal year 2026. The fiscal year 2025 reconciliation law (P.L. 119-21) provided an additional $3.89 billion for NNSA through fiscal year 2029, with all additional funding directed to Weapons Activities.
Production Modernization increased by 65% from fiscal year 2026 to fiscal year 2027. NNSA is requesting $8.79 billion after $5.33 billion was enacted in fiscal year 2026, a 65% jump. The agency is mandated to produce 80 plutonium pits per year as close to 2030 as possible, though congressional skepticism persists about whether those targets can be met on schedule and within budget.”
Pope Leo Votes In The Midterms Recently, After A Major Feud With Convicted Felon President Trump.
That’s right! Reportedly on October 30, 2026, according to a release with the Vatican, “Pope Leo XIV has voted in the midterm elections of the United States, expressing his “belief in the right and the duty of citizens to participate in democratic processes.”
The Holy See Press Office confirmed on Friday that Pope Leo XIV, an American citizen, has voted in the US midterm elections.
“Pope Leo XIV has exercised his right to vote as a United States citizen, whenever he was eligible to do so,” according to a statement.
