The Ongoing and Escalating U.S. Assault on Cuba

The United States has been attacking Cuba continuously ever since they overthrew the U.S.-backed Batista regime in 1959, imposing an economic blockade, providing a base for terrorist attacks, and various other means. The Trump Administration has escalated this ongoing assault by cutting off the flow of oil to the island, creating a devastating energy crisis. Our speakers will talk about how all of this is affecting the people of Cuba, how they’re dealing with it, and what we can do to help.

Speakers incude:
Rita Barouch – member, Bay Area Cuba Solidarity Network; working with the National Network on Cuba (NNOC) Maternal and Neonatal Health Campaign and the NNOC Resolutions & Advocacy Task Force

Gloria La Riva – member, Party for Socialism and Liberation and Peace and Freedom Party; Director, the Medical Aid Hatuey Project; recently returned from Cuba
