Revulsion against Trump regime is now against the electoral system
(Marin County, Oct. 17) – Up to now, protests against Trump have focused on his undoing of the rule of law, his thievery, his squandering of the nation’s treasure, his pointless wars, his clinical level narcissism ... the list goes on.
We are now at a tipping point. Not since the Civil War has the very existence of the nation been brought into question. The slogan of the Oct. 17th protests, “Vote Early In the Drop Box” shows the realization that we can not even trust a national election, that Trump is using the federal government’s facilities, the Post Office, and an eviscerated “justice” system to nullify or steal the upcoming midterm elections.
People are now urged to use state ballot collection boxes, there is no longer the expectation that the Post Office will deliver their ballots. The Post Office will now try to look at the voter names and withhold the ballots of those likely to vote against Trump, mostly those who live in “blue” areas.
The regime is also using the “Justice” department to threaten election officials who do not comply. Many Governors and State officials are resisting, preparing lawsuits, etc. Whether this will lead to open conflict is anyone’s guess.
Protests against governments that pay lip service to the needs of crumbling education, health, and workers protection infrastructure but permit the wealthy to game the system and make it all meaningless are exploding throughout Europe.
Very few politicians explicitly identify the problem as the extreme wealth of the few. They just throw up their hands and claim that the money is just not "available." But the billionaires have it. Few leaders are daring to name the obvious solution, for the people to take it back. This will not be easy. The wealthy and the political class are often the same people and institutions.
There can be no resolution until the political class is replaced.
