(Oakland, October 9) - Hundreds of large trucks and shipping containers could be seen behind the locked gates of the FedEx hub near Oakland Airport. In front, demonstrators young and old set up memorial photos of children killed by Israel with US weapons shipped from Oakland Airport by FedEx. A speaker later read out the names of some of the thousands of children. From "The New Arab," November 20, 2025:
A report by the Palestinian Youth Movement published in August 2025 noted that the Oakland airport is second only to Dallas-Fort Worth for the shipment of weapons parts to Israel.
The 15-page report, based on human rights investigations and on data exports, has found that since January, at least 280 military cargo shipments via FedEx have departed from Oakland International Airport, with Nevatim Airbase in Israel as the final destination. These shipments, supplied by Lockheed Martin, have included F-35 fighter jet components for carrying and releasing munitions and guided weapons.
More specifically, the report found that the shipments were consistently frequent (with only one week of a lull in transfers in six months); the materials delivered are wide-ranging, from lethal systems to small bolts; Nevatim is identified as the final destination for the materials; the shipments are coming from the Defense Logistics Agency in San Joaquín; and F-35s are confirmed to be used by Israel in Gaza.
A large grey cardboard “missile” was one speaker’s prop. It was later left at the gate, bearing the words “Stop Shipping Death.”
A drawing of a Keffiyeh wearing person was chalked on the pavement with the words “Arms Embargo Now.”
Demonstrators formed a picked line. Palestinian flag and Keffiyehs were abundant as were signs that read “No Jets for Genocide” and “Arms Embargo Now.”
Cards sere distributed where people could write their own massage to FedEx.
An attempt was made to deliver a letter to FedEx management. The result was a polite corporate runaround.
Copies of the “New York (war) Crimes” were distributed, bearing the Times’ well know slogan modified to “All the Consent Fit to Manufacture” as coined by Noam Chomsky.
Many passing cars and trucks honked their approval as leaflets promising future actions were distribute.
