California Coastal Cleanup Day - California’s largest annual volunteer event is Saturday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Join us in Seaside! Volunteers will clean up two important local waterways: Laguna Grande Regional Park and Robert’s Lake.

Volunteer Sign Up is Open! Select your site, complete the volunteer waiver, and find site-specific meeting information at https://SaveOurShores.org/Coastal-Cleanup

Check-in: Dirt lot between Chili’s and Laguna Grande Park Lakeside entrance on Canyon Del Rey Blvd. Look for the green signs.

These projects are part of a much larger effort, with 57 cleanup sites around the Monterey Bay and additional locations throughout the Central Coast and California. Volunteers help remove litter before seasonal rains can carry it into creeks, rivers, beaches, and the ocean.

Volunteers can download the Clean Swell app to help record the types of debris collected. Coastal Cleanup Day also provides valuable data about the types of debris found along our waterways and shorelines, helping guide policies to prevent plastic pollution and protect marine life.

California Coastal Cleanup Day is coordinated statewide by the California Coastal Commission and organized on the Central Coast by Save Our Shores in partnership with local organizations and municipalities.

Participating local organizations: Sustainable Seaside, Sustainable Del Rey Oaks, Monterey High School's Ocean Advocacy and Dewasters Clubs, and Monterey Peninsula College Environmental Club.
