Nurses and Allies Protest Use of Palantir’s AI Tech at Hospitals
On August 27, National Nurses United held protests in Palo Alto and seven other US cities. Together with community organizations they called on hospitals and elected officials to cut ties with the company Palantir due to its dangerous AI software. Photos here are from the Palo Alto demonstration.

Hundreds demanded justice in healthcare for patients and staff on August 27 when friends and comrades came together to stand with National Nurses United against Palantir. .
Nurses have found that automated staffing platforms run with Palantir software are disruptive. The union stated that the technology is exacerbating an understaffing crisis in the healthcare industry.
The nurse's union also called for an end to war and no more deportations and detentions by ICE.
In Palo Alto more than 20 organizations signed on in support of the rally at the San Francisco Bay Area location. After demonstrators took the street for over an hour, speakers from Oil and Gas Network, ACCE, Bay Resistance, and more spoke near the entrance to the Palantir office which was the original company headquarters (now located in Miami). The Raging Grannies took a turn at the mic, singing their message. "AI puts precious healthcare into jeopardy...stand with nurses now!"
National Nurses United represents more than 225,000 registered nurses. They said Palantir now manages data systems tied to more than one-fifth of U.S. hospital beds.
