Location Details:
Join Jodie Evans and Jenin, CODEPINK's Palestine campaigner, for a discussion about the lack of engagement from feminist organizations about sexual violence in Palestine. There has been a genre of NGOs that have co-opted the term “feminist, women's organization”, but are very selective on what they speak out about. Right now, the sexual violence Palestinian men and women, alike, face is being reported on more than ever in modern history. This is not only a human rights issue, but it is also a feminist one. It should be platformed and discussed in every women’s organization, and there should be clear accountability for Israel’s crimes.
We will share studies that reveal more than the media shares, look at the Western feminist silence, and discuss ways to educate and bring them into engagement for the women in Palestine.
