Webinar: Remembering Awdah Hathaleen: Women's Voices from Umm al-Kheir

Please join us for a special memorial webinar honoring the life and legacy of Awdah Hathaleen, a beloved English teacher, father, and advocate for peace from the Palestinian Bedouin village of Umm al-Kheir.

One year ago, Awdah was killed by a violent settler. He was our friend, and we had invited him to speak to Congress after helping him obtain a U.S. visa so he could share his community's story with policymakers. Awdah was deeply committed to justice, nonviolence, and ensuring that Palestinians could remain safely on their land with dignity.

One year later, the community Awdah loved continues to face escalating violence, displacement, and threats to its future—including the school where he taught and the children he cared for.

This webinar will feature Iman and Nima, two women from Umm al-Kheir who are actively supporting and strengthening their community through education, women's initiatives, and local advocacy. They will share the realities facing families in the South Hebron Hills and reflect on Awdah's enduring legacy.
