August is National Breastfeeding Month (NBM) in the USA

by Irucka Embry
August 2026 is National Breastfeeding Month in the USA. This Press Release is an effort to bring about a greater awareness of the importance of Human breast milk as an infant's first food. There are important questions and useful resources to encourage a greater adoption of breastfeeding globally.

In the United States of America (USA), the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee (USBC) previously announced that the August 2026 National Breastfeeding Month1 theme will be Resilience, Interdependence, Self-Determination, Empowerment.

Irucka Embry, of EcoC²S, created this Press Release in support of National Breastfeeding Month to 1) encourage a greater adoption of breastfeeding & 2) provide useful resources so that we, as Human Beings, can become more responsible for our health and the health of our child(ren) not only in the USA, but across Planet Earth as well.

Some important questions about breastfeeding:

    1. Why is Human breast milk superior2 to lacking (and possibly toxic)3 baby formulas as the first food?

    2. Is any researcher looking into the importance of the transfer of Microzymas (small ferment in Greek) from mother to child during pregnancy, during vaginal childbirth, and/or through breastfeeding?4

      1. If so, what are the results?

      2. If not, why not?

    3. Is any researcher looking into the importance of the transfer of subtle energies from mother to child during pregnancy, during vaginal childbirth, and/or through breastfeeding?5

      1. If so, what are the results?

      2. If not, why not?

    4. Can baby formula replace the emotional connection between a mother and a nursing child?

    5. Infants receiving Human breast milk have been shown to have a decrease in infant mortality, is this also true for baby formula?6

    1. What is the percent of infant children who were breastfed within the first hour of their lives throughout the world?7

    2. What is the percent of infant children who were breastfed exclusively within the first 48 hours (2 days) of their lives throughout the world?8

  1. What is the percent of infant children who were breastfed exclusively within the first 3 or 6 months of their lives in the United States of America (USA)?9

  2. What are the factor(s) that keep mothers from choosing to (exclusively) breastfeed their child(ren) for the first hour, first 48 hours, up to the first 12 months of their child(ren)’s lives throughout Planet Earth?

  3. What can be done globally to raise awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding for the mother and the child?

  4. What can you do to take action, raise awareness, etc. during August 2026 (and beyond) to be a champion for breastfeeding?
