Date:
Wednesday, June 17, 2026
Time:
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Event Type:
Panel Discussion
Organizer/Author:
Eyewitness Palestine
Location Details:

Two years ago, 28-year-old Hadeel Al Gherbawi had a mission: to create a space of healing and wellbeing for the children of Gaza.

Single-handedly, despite the ongoing genocide, she set up Al Jawad Camp, which now serves over 400 kids— providing them with schooling, food, and psychosocial support through trauma-sensitive yoga.

She will speak alongside Kerstin Engström, chairperson of the Akelius Foundation, founded by Swedish billionaire Roger Akelius which recently donated about $80 million USD for education and basic needs of children in Gaza.
