SEPARATION of CHURCH and STATE - Protecting Both Believers and Nonbelievers

Religious Freedom for All: Rethinking Liberty Beyond Belief

Thursday, April 9th at 9 - 10 AM PT (12 – 1:15 PM ET)

Religious freedom is often framed as a right belonging primarily to people of faith, while church–state separation is treated as a niche concern of the nonreligious.

This interfaith panel challenges both assumptions. Featuring atheist, humanist, and religious voices, the discussion explores what religious liberty means across belief systems — and why church–state separation protects everyone’s freedom of conscience.

Panelists will examine how religious favoritism harms both believers and nonbelievers, highlight shared values, and offer a more inclusive vision of religious freedom grounded in civil liberties and human rights.
