Join this FREE walking tour trekking Union Square to St. Mary's Square, sharing 10 social movement stories that reveal the simplest, most obvious truth of all: whoever controls where you stand, controls you.

The tour's hypothesis is that nearly all social movements are about resistance to the spatial exclusion from wherever the dominant demographic doesn't want you. Whether the native American, the African-American, the poor white American, the Latin-American, the queer, the Moslem, the dissenter, it's the exclusion from equal use of a portion of the Earth that excites a social movement.

The tour's narrative crests at St. Mary's Square where the economic agenda of Sun Yat-sen, inspired by the San Francisco-born plan to treat the economic value of "location. location, location" as utterly a social good, is celebrated.
