🍲 What's Happening?

Join the East Bay Permaculture Guild for our first 2026 gathering at our new home base! This is an accessible entry point for permaculture newcomers and seasoned practitioners alike.

Agenda:

  • 6:00–6:30 PM: Potluck Dinner – Bring a dish to share (label allergens). BYO reusables appreciated. Note: No stove use due to insurance – hot plates OK for warming.
  • 6:30–7:15 PM: "What is Permaculture?" with Jessica Bates
  • 7:15–8:30 PM: Interactive Planning for 2026 – Shape guild priorities: topics, partnerships, skillshares/projects

πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎ Meet Jessica Bates

29-year Bay Area transplant, certified permaculture teacher, Master Composter, and social permaculture organizer. Jessica co-founded Berkeley's Ashby Community Garden (returned to Sogorea Te' Land Trust) and helped build the La Colina Hill Community Circle – a 50+ neighbor network with food forests, crop swaps, tool libraries, disaster prep plans, and 5,000-gallon rainwater catchment.

She'll cover: ethics & principles, permaculture flower, East Bay examples, land-based + social permaculture (decolonizing food systems, mutual aid).
