Join the East Bay Permaculture Guild for our first 2026 gathering at our new home base! This is an accessible entry point for permaculture newcomers and seasoned practitioners alike.
Agenda:
- 6:00β6:30 PM: Potluck Dinner β Bring a dish to share (label allergens). BYO reusables appreciated. Note: No stove use due to insurance β hot plates OK for warming.
- 6:30β7:15 PM: "What is Permaculture?" with Jessica Bates
- 7:15β8:30 PM: Interactive Planning for 2026 β Shape guild priorities: topics, partnerships, skillshares/projects
π©βπΎ Meet Jessica Bates
29-year Bay Area transplant, certified permaculture teacher, Master Composter, and social permaculture organizer. Jessica co-founded Berkeley's Ashby Community Garden (returned to Sogorea Te' Land Trust) and helped build the La Colina Hill Community Circle β a 50+ neighbor network with food forests, crop swaps, tool libraries, disaster prep plans, and 5,000-gallon rainwater catchment.
She'll cover: ethics & principles, permaculture flower, East Bay examples, land-based + social permaculture (decolonizing food systems, mutual aid).
π― About EBPG
Grassroots, volunteer-run group practicing justice-oriented permaculture in the East Bay. We center racial justice, landback, and community resilience. All experience levels welcome!
