Come along on a walking tour about San Francisco social movement history. It's free, except for costing you your calcified notions about justice. This walk and talk will break the accumulated bonds most people endure in making sense of social justice. Over the course of 10 stories ranging from native American resistance to colonization, to Black Panther resistance to exclusion from full citizenship, to Queer resistance to being the odd one out, the walk identifies the economics of exclusion as the gritty kernel of justice-getting.
Two days after Xmas Day and its story of the birth of a liberation catalyst, this walk proposes that justice is fundamentally about ensuring everyone's economic interest in the planet is secured. Social movements are born of economic exclusion from equal rights to being wherever the traduced/marginalized party is.
The Christian story of universal promise to heaven on Earth finds fulfillment when "those who don't want you to be where they are, pay you not to be there." It's a crude way of looking at the issue of marginalization, but it's mighty effective in dislodging the landlords.
