Lurie's Pick for Supervisor May Be Called Up in CA Guard to Terrorize San Francisco
SF billionaire mayor Daniel Lurie has picked a first lieutenant in the California National Guard to be a Supervisor in District 4. Alan Wong said he did not know about the struggle to turn Balboa reservoir to a private developer. He also is now supporting Lurie's Family Zoning Plan which will destroy rent controlled housing and allow for big condo developments in the West Side of San Francisco at market rate instead of working class housing.

An article on his appointment in the Weekly Standard https://sfstandard.com/2025/11/30/sunset-supervisor-alan-wong-appointment/ points out that Wong is "a first lieutenant in the
National Guard." Got to wonder what he will do if Trump deploys him to a city to help out as ICE kidnaps and terrorizes people.
I was troubled by Wong when he was a candidate for the first time for the board during covid. CCSF HEAT held demos against the closure of Fort Mason
and the turning over of part of the Balboa Reservoir to a for profit developer to build mostly market rate housing--that project has just begun. Even though
Wong was an aide to supervisor Mar, and was running for the board, I recall him claiming to not be familiar with either issue. By contrast, candidates Martinez and Chisti both participated at the Balboa rally and may have also been involved protesting the closure of Fort Mason.
Do note, years ago, Wong received training that was described as follows: https://richmondsunsetnews.com/2020/02/07/sunset-district-native-alan-wong-follows-his-passion-for-public-service/
When the opportunity to become an officer became available, Wong was accepted into the Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA. Wong was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 2017 and finished his military police leadership course in 2018. (emphasis added)
When he ran for re-election, the leadership of AFT 2121 went all out for him and called on people to only vote for him and no other candidate. From a bulletin sent out on Nov. 4. 2024
"Listen to SF teachers! Educators at SFUSD (UESF), SF State (CFA), & City College (AFT 2121) urge you to vote only for Alan Wong for SF College Board. Just a little over a year later, he
leaves the board. Was he using his position on the CCSF Board as a stepping stone to a higher office?
