Ukrainian USVs attacked two tankers off the coast of Turkey

On November 28, 2025, the Gambian-flagged tanker Kairos exited the Bosphorus Strait and was heading to Novorossiysk when it was attacked by Ukrainian unmanned surface vehicles. Turkish media described the cause as an "external impact" that severely damaged the vessel, but there is little doubt that it was a strike by Ukrainian naval drones. A few hours later, reports emerged of another Ukrainian attack using five USVs on the Virat tanker. The Turkish channel A Haber published a recording of a call for help from the vessel, in which the crew repeatedly reports being attacked by drones.
