A Nationwide One Day Call in Sick to Work Day on Friday May 1, 2026

We need a working class-propelled political crisis for the unstable regime that we live under in the United States. This can start with a One Day Nationwide Call-in-Sick-to-Work-Day this coming Friday May 1, 2026.

The concept of a General Strike is largely unknown among contemporary U.S. wage earners. Most of us have no lived experience of this, and the level of social connection that is necessary to make something like that fly does not exist in the U.S. right now -- but everyone who has to show up somewhere that they don't really want to be to get money for rent, food and whatever else knows what calling in sick to work often really means.

This cannot be "organized." This has to be spread by every possible means -- talking with friends, co-workers and neighbors, the internet, graffiti on walls. We now have almost six months to spread the word. If the time is right, and we think that it is, this idea can spread spontaneously and take on a life of its own.

This coming May Day falls on a Friday. Millions of pissed-off, overworked and underpaid wage slaves might be up for giving themselves a three day weekend on their employer's dime.

Let's get the word out, starting now and over the next six months. Let's try our best and see what happens. Be inventive. Be energetic. We have nothing to lose but our pains.
