Blocchiamo tutto - we block everything! & Palestine
Italian workers and people are blocking the country to stop all trade with Israel to end the US supported genocide of Gaza by Israel
Blocchiamo tutto - we block everything! & Palestine
The Global Sumud Flotilla attempted to bring relief supplies to Gaza in September 2025. On the night of 1 to 2 October, the ships were seized by the Israeli navy and the participants arrested. The Genoa port workers had announced that they would "blockade everything" in the event of this happening. In fact, millions of people in Italy responded to this call and took part in demonstrations, blockades and strikes. People also took to the streets en masse in other countries.
The success of this ‘Blocchiamo tutto’ movement is linked to the anti-militarist mobilisation of many port workers. They have been blocking arms deliveries in Genoa and other cities for years. In the video, José Nivoi, ex-port worker, secretary of the base union USB and participant in the Global Sumud Flottilla, talks about the emergence of this anti-militarist coordination of port workers. He emphasises that one of the reasons why dockers have organised together in recent years is that they are exposed to the same government strategies in all countries: Cutting collective agreements, privatisation, inflation through increasing military spending.
