Paco Morales, author and activist in hiding in Southern California, has proposed that the surest way to disrupt the Trump march towards a full-blown authoritarian culture is to call-out the landlordism he embodies and exhibits.
Morales argues that the substrate of domination is privatization of the livelihood-getting potential of planet Earth, namely the treatment of the social and material opportunities that the Earth presents as though they are not the birthright of all people.
There is no easy fix that will not inconvenience most of middle class USA . . . land owners will have to surrender the financial equity they hold in owning land . . . but there is a fix, and it doesn't mean surrendering private title to land; instead, it means considering private title to land being contingent upon satisfying the whole of society's economic opportunity cost in recognizing that brazen claim to own--to the exclusion of everyone else--a piece of the planet.
Authoritarianism is rooted in a culture that advocates exclusion (except upon unequal terms) from geography. The unprincipled principle Trump thrives by is exclusion for some for the benefit of a select.
Morales' confidant, David Giesen, will share Morales' thinking. Morales remains in hiding due to his ultra-revolutionary advocacy. Vegetarian supper provided for those who RSVP by phone.
