On Friday, May 9, 2025, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested in handcuffs after attempting to visit a recently re-opened ICE detention facility. ICE shoved members of the Congressional delegation which included Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rep Rob Menendez Jr. and
Rep. LaMonica Iver who are currently under threat of arrest.
