Join a georgist and a Palestinian for a supper talk on healing Israel-Palestine. Khalil Sayegh and yours truly are hosting a chance to discuss more than self-righteous polemics that leave little to no room for inclusion in Gaza.
Our featured guest is Khalil Saygeh: https://theagorainitiative.org/

The Palestine-Israel story goes way back of course, but it's current horror is discretely traceable to European anti-semitism since the late 19th century. That anti-semitism crested in the Holocaust, followed by the "sneaker wave" of 1948 when Europe (and the USA) under cover of the promise of good surfing in the Levant, helped establish a go-to place for Jews in Palestine/ancient Israel.
Creating Israel there meant Europe was off the hook for creating a safe place in Europe for its despised citizens, but entailed displacing yet more semitic peoples (Palestinians) to make way for the Jewish people.
Gads! The train wreck European racism created! Yet there is reason for hope for a land for land amelioration of the planned debacle. Two parallel movements are working towards a land-based resolution to the fundamental cause of bloodshed. One movement, The Swap, would provide Jews and Palestinians with their own land (the size of Israel) from Dusseldorf to Nancy in what is now Germany and France. The other movement would heal the rancor inimical to a lasting two-state resolution in the lands of Israel-Palestine.
RSVPs greatly appreciated as we prepare a banquet for attendees.
