Isn't it unbelievable that most people have to pay another person in order to occupy, much less use a bit of the Earth? But that's the cultural norm. Some hold title to the Earth and nearly everyone else complies with the enforcement of that existential claim. Kind of alienating, isn't it? Makes political aliens of planet Earth the majority of human, uh, residents.

Come along on a free walking tour that challenges this normative nonsense as it explores the intersection of real estate and social issues. What did the Black Panthers and the Mormons of 1846 have to say about this? Sun Yat-sen took it up too, as did the SFSU students and faculty in 1968. The walk surveys a dozen social movements in the course of 2 and half hours, including a nod to David Graeber and the Occupy Movement.

So, if you find it unbelievable that your landlord is lord of creation, and believe there should be a all-encompassing Non-Exclusionary Act piece of public policy, wake a bit early Saturday morning and set out for a walking tour presenting Planet Earth as your birthright.
