So much of good-intentioned San Francisco worships at the altar of "bash the market" histrionics in the intellectual space known as lackadaisical malarkeyism. Housing rights and better wages activism is largely devoted to the notion that "the market" is a sinister tool of beastly-minded mammon-seekers.

Well, such a position flies in the face of a cosmic proposition that the earth itself is the common inheritance of all. If one is truly committed to that proposition, then the privatization of the value of the Earth is sacrilegious since 1) the Earth is an existential provision of the cosmos to all inhabitants and 2) the economic value of the Earth is a function of the emergence of community.

At this evening's gathering of geoists (which features a well-stocked vegetarian kitchen) we'll BBQ the nonsense position held by so many go-gooders that "socializing location values will be the last thing we'll rigorously challenge in today's culture." The twist, we add, is that having the public charge private interests the market rent for access to location proves the market works!

Bring rigorous convictions (or at least an open mind) to this free and open and gratis meal evening. And RSVP is truly appreciated!
