ILWU Local 10 Stops Work & Rallies For Mumia With Tyre Nichols Family In San Francisco

ILWU Local 10 held a stop work action and held a march and rally to demand the freedom of Mumia Abu-Jamal. The family of Tyre Nichols also attended and spoke out.
ILWU 10 as part of an international day of action to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal stopped work,
marched and rallied at the Harry Bridges Plaza in San Francisco. They were also joined
by the family of Tyre Nichols and many other labor and community activists
International actions also took place in Durban, South Africa, Tokyo, Japan and Oxford, UK.

Bay Area ILWU Local 10 has voted to close all Bay Area ports on February 16, 2023 to free CWA NABET journalist and political prisoner Mumia Abu-jamal. They will be marching from their union hall to Harry Bridges Plaza next to the Ferry Building in San Franciso.

ILWU Local 10 member David Newton and ILWU 10 retiree Jack Heyman talk about the case and why ILWU 10 is shutting the ports on the 16th.

In Solidarity from Japan with the freedom of Mumia Abu-Jamal the Japanese Hoshino Defense Committee, Osaka Defense Committee and Doro-Chiba went to the US Embassy but US officials called out the police to stop them from delivering a statement.
